some news with the cylinder.
Today after several tests, I decided to modify the exhaust port.

As you know, the simonini exhaust port has got a sort of occlusion that doesn’t allow to
the gases to escape correctly out of it.
They drop against the area where it’s placed the threaded rod, that is a little bit inside the exhaust.

I don’t have drawings of it, I’ve just made it make with the rotary table.

The magnets are below the wings.
It’s also possible to see the magnets if you have a look under the flywheel.
They have a different colour .

How heavy is your flywheel now?

To be honest, I didn’t weight it now, I just remember that originally was something around 1340 grams.
I think , more or less that now is quietly 850-900 grams.

Hy Javad! Yes It’s a good way, I’ve made the holes and also machined on the top and on the side.

I Had to build a 4mm plate to adjust the exccessive highness of the stroke. (it’s 46mm ;))
Also due to the conrod’s lenght (90mm).

I’ve made a bakelite plate of 5mm that goes between the reedvalve and carters.
I did it to increase the engine reaction at low revs.

I’ve also modified the 0,30 reeds with boyesen method, and I got rid of the inside reed divisors.

At the beginning I was thinking to make it with VTR or carbon fiber, but it’s quite difficult
and I don’t have the time.

Well.. to fit the cylinder I had to bore the carter up to ( if I remember well ) 51.4mm or something around it.
Anyway , I’ve closed the cick starter hole with an alu cylinder, heated and pressed into, cuz I don’t have the kick starter.

the fact was that in the space below the roll, I’ll place the fuel thank.
I choose to weld the roll in that position cuz it’s the most sollecitated area, also due to the front
heavy forks with the disk brake, that I’ve mounted.

I’ve noticed on my simonini 48, that the spring segment (I have a mono segment piston), doesn’t close properly around the
alignment point, beacause of that the oil is always burnt between the cylinder wall , and the piston…[Lees meer]
