I need to drill up 2 pieces of 6mm holes.

We are behind the schedule because of problem with the mill.. We have big noise and vibration that are escalating. We have changed tension washers on drawbar and also bearings on the spindle.. Hopefully we can start test the machine within next 2 weeks. Haven’t given up on the carter. 🙂

Okey, so when the ring is present it’s not possible to drill the inlet? Or is it not possible to make it wider from the inside?
Are you sure the ring isn’t a reinforcement for the carburator, so the inlet doesn’t snap off so easy?

Yes, that steel busing is familiar! Thoose are common in Swedish standard carters..
I have measured by oulet/uitlaat and is measure ~22,3-22,5mm
I managed to take some photos from the inlaat aswell, it looks unplugged??

Hmm never seen one of thoose restrictors before..
Is it esy to pluck out? Do I have to cut it?
Perhaps there is an dutch instruction on the forums?

Funny, larger outlet = restricted/limited.

I think the steel ring/bushing already is plucked out, see picture 3.. The inlet is 11,5mm.

I’m looking at DR 43mm, according to JMPB this will not fit this carter? I thought 43mm would fit all carters, but 46mm needed to be reworked.
Is this the DR-EVO?

Ohh, it looks like there is potential for improvements in the carter..
The grote carter is manudactured 1998, but yes I’m pretty confident this is the last model..
It looks like there have been a steel bushing in my carter that someone have took out, the surface look honed.
Perhaps I can look inside the inlet without splitting the engine, finding…[Lees meer]

Couple of more pictures

It’s been a while since last and it’s mostly because we had a major set-back with tolerances.
The machine seem to miss steps or there is a bug with backlash compensation.
The seatings for the bearing were ofsetted with about 0,35mm on Y axis.
We have corrected this by re-milling the “keys” to oversize and making custom keys, instead of Minarelli…[Lees meer]

Hehe, well then it’s time for next episode 🙂 Now it’s really looking like the 3D model, it’s satisfying to see  something go from sketch in computer into something you can touch!

Which holes are you referring to?
The frame is, as is in earlier post in the thread.. I’ll need to finnish the carter before I know where to reinforce because I will need to cut the frame a bit to fit the carter in place because of double sided crankshaft.
