The Malossi gearing is quite long, especially in combination with 90mm rear disc. I think you will experience lack of acceleration if you go 90mm+1:9.

Meanwhile, the CIF gearing isn’t best quality.
I’d say you should try 1:10,5+90mm or 1:9+100mm

Okey, so I started to CAD up the rotor, first is according to HPI how the rotor SHOULD be, and the next is how the rotor ACTUALLY is, as you can see, the rotor is out of spec. 🙁
I will send HPI an email and complain about this, I will try to save the rotor by remachining it anyway, if HPI wats to send me a new rotor I will be happy!

The inner-rotor used there is much smaller, why building a decent fan a bit easier.. the HPI is BIIIIIG, the rotor have a bigger diameter (62mm) than the Malossi/selettra, which is quite big aswell..
Both the malossi and the HPI will have bigger inertia and will not…[Lees meer]

2. Electric fan, installed in the frame somehow.
3. Build your own flywheel/fan

I’d say that the Malossi requires less modding to the MHR cracnkcase, due to it already have the DEPS port and was made for the crank case. have you already bought the reed case? I’ve read here that the new generation of the reed valve isn’t as good quality as the old ones.. Maybe consider a polini SE?
