Mistered11: ignition from a standard Ciao engine does not fit to the Sproc carter as it is now. The carters are prepared for inner rotor ignition only.

short update on the paint work.

About 10 days ago I coated the frame with “roestige kleur”

after the first day the paint started rust

and now after some days holiday it is more rusty

wuha, maybe it is to hard for me. Will stay with the old fashion one. 😀

Hope this engine will run like expected. Painting of the frame will be finished end of April and then I can try the first test run.

The bore is 57mm and it is round. I’ve marked the bore with blue color. The rest are ports.

Regarding cylinder I’m not sure so far. Need some inspiriations. Also about the ignition, should be a inner rotor ignition.

Yesterday we had the first short run of the engine and today we found that :boos

fixing a new gasket was not enough, too much compression. Then we put two head gaskets in and the engine runs nice 😀

The color will change at the end when everything is finished as I still need to drill some holes, expand the back fender for a bigger tire and also want to weld some reinforcements to the frame.

Andree, I have seen the same symptoms on an Athena cylinder. Due to bigger mass around cylinder pin holes the expansion at heat in this areas is bigger then at the rest of the cylinder. The particles you found can be a result from that piston pressing in that areas.

ohoh, only 200 km ? Intersting that the marks are more or less in the area where the two cylinder pins are.

May be heat problem, what cylinder head did you drive?
