Yep, probably in Romania the rules are similar, I will check carefully. Thanks!
MihaiSo that is the thing I got from the last owner when I bought it, I live in Romania.
MihaiYeah, the backend was changed by me, when I bought it (2-3 years ago) it was a thinner one with a big hole in the middle, exhaust was changed(original was rounded to edges), seat was changed (old one didn’t have PIAGGIO written on it), I don’t really know what to say about the headlight, it’s strange, I ‘ve never seen one like this on other Ciao’s.
I also think it was painted before I bought it. And I am pretty sure lots of things are not original on this :))

MihaiYeah, actually when iI got the moped it won t start, it was the flywheel. Then since I repaired it the enigne was running really nice at speed but it never idled properly.
The setup: brom crank and carter, oringinal piaggio cylinder with aftermarket piston and piston rings
That’s all I can tell you. But even if the jet was too small I think the moped was supposed to idle, am I right?MihaiThanks for advice!
MihaiHi guys,
After a month with a lot of work at cleaning and painting the chassis (frame) I am back with a few experiences. I tried honing that original cylinder myself and the result was not bad but the cylinder’s surface was uneven and that produced NO COMPRESSION an I kind of expected this to happen. After that I decided the easiest way will be to buy a CHINA engine kit and go with it until it brakes. I never tried a china cylinder, it’s really cheap (about 30$) and easy to find here in the city where I live and I would have the occasion the test it’s durability. What jet should I use for a 38,2mm engine kit and a original 12.10 carb or I should use a 12.12 carb?
Any opinions?
After I will finish it I will definitely post the results.Thank you very much for help! this forum is really helpful and I regret that my country doesn’t have one :))
MihaiThank you very much!
I will probably post the result for you to see what I managed to do :))
MihaiHi guys,
Any ideas about this problem??Could this outer part of the cylinder be welded somehow??
I really need help because I want to finish it for the summer holiday :))
MihaiThank you very much Gr Wim!
I will probably try first to hone my actual cylinder to 40mm, but there is a little problem:
If you look in the photo you can see one side wall is really thin (around 1mm), there would be any chance to hone it or I will definitely need a replacement?
MihaiHi Joe,
Thank you for information about the crankshaft.
I know the cylinder should have been 38,2mm but it was honed before I suppose.
Would it be a good idea to hone this cylinder to 40mm to make the deep scratches disappear?
MihaiGuys,
How is a moustache crankshaft looking? And how is a moustache filter looking? I don t really know how the restricted parts look, without the carter which I know that the inlet of the “Brom” one is kind of sculpted to be larger inside the engine.
MihaiOk, thank you very much, I read that and I don t really undersatnd what moustache crank means, can you explain that to me?
