Yeah, the backend was changed by me, when I bought it (2-3 years ago) it was a thinner one with a big hole in the middle, exhaust was changed(original was rounded to edges), seat was changed (old one didn’t have PIAGGIO written on it), I don’t really know what to say about the headlight, it’s strange, I ‘ve never seen one like this on other…[Lees meer]

Yeah, actually when iI got the moped it won t start, it was the flywheel. Then since I repaired it the enigne was running really nice at speed but it never idled properly.

The setup: brom crank and carter, oringinal piaggio cylinder with aftermarket piston and piston rings

I bought a Piaggio Ciao P a few years ago. It had on it a sha 12.12 with 42 jet. The problem is that this engine don’t want to idle correctly and it’s really annoying. I will probably try first to hone my actual cylinder to 40mm, but there is a little problem:

If you look in the photo you can see one side wall is really thin (around 1mm), there would be any chance to hone it or I will definitely need a replacement? 20230521_111633

Thank you for information about the crankshaft.

I know the cylinder should have been 38,2mm but it was honed before I suppose.

Would it be a good idea to hone this cylinder to 40mm to make the deep scratches disappear?

Hi guys,

New problems are appearing on my Piaggio SI as I try to restore it. Firstly I saw two deep scratches on my original 39mm cylinder and I am wondering if I can hone it to 40mm. But, my biggest fear is that if I put a 40mm piston on it, that would probably destroy my crankshaft at high RPM, am I right? Btw I have a original brom crankshaft…[Lees meer]

How is a moustache crankshaft looking? And how is a moustache filter looking? I don t really know how the restricted parts look, without the carter which I know that the inlet of the “Brom” one is kind of sculpted to be larger inside the engine.
