The transmission housing didn’t like the constant beating of the hard launch. 

I added the malossi over drive transmission to the kinetic. Such a game changer the bike pulls so much harder off the line. A Honda hobbit belt can be used to run the over drive on a bravo length sub frame. 

This is the polini case I’m working on with a malossi 46.5 cylinder.

My kinetic is back together. I used the 46mm polini and pipe from one of my other bikes.

Although the estoril pipe pulled better with the cone removed it still doesn’t ride as good as the proma pipe. These gps speeds are from a quick loop around my neighborhood, not top speed runs. But the estoril quit pulling  around 30mph. I don’t recommend the estoril exhaust.

I haven’t welded the pipe back together yet, I’ll keep you updated once I get another speed run.

I swapped a techno estoril pipe on my grande. It took some work to fit on the bike, different header size, different mounting location. After a test ride I lost 15 mph off my top speed so I cut it apart to remove the restrictor cone.

Custom cases, simonini Vespa crank, athena 80cc minarelli horizontal scooter cylinder with 43mm stroke(claims 16-18hp), hpi ignition, reed valve with 24mm carburetor. I’m excited to get it running.

Bonneville is a 28 hour drive from where I live so I doubt any of my bikes will see the salt flats. I’m unsure if a bicycle cdi would work on a Vespa since the bicycle doesn’t use a pick up coil.

Built a new subframe

Haha, I wanted to compare the acceleration between my proma pipe vs the hacked Yamaha yz85 pipe so I didn’t think racing down the hills was important. This one is a simple build 43 malossi, 13.13 carb, stock crank cut for longer duration, gy6 scooter variator modified to fit, and 100mm clutch disks on a 12.25: 1 transmission. I’ve been riding my grande around a bit after getting it reassembled.

Here is a video from riding up the hills in my neighborhood.

I made a jig to dress the belt to help with the floppy belt. I also opened up the variator to help get the belt to the top of the rear pulley. It’s much better off the line. I’m waiting for a larger carburetor to arrive then I’ll tune some more.

Where did you set your timing with the inner rotor? I have mine set at 1.5mm before top dead center. I’m still adjusting/tuning my bike.

In the process of tuning the variators and carburetors on both the burgundy grande and kinetic. I reassembled my blue grande then snapped the crank, I’m in the process of rebuilding that engine now. I lightened the flywheel while it was apart. I don’t know how much lighter I could make it and still feel safe to ride it.
