Thanks for fast reply.
I would settle with a decent used one as well, any advice on where to find one in NL?
Thanks for the suggestion, Ejduh.
My friend os more in need of a users manual, rather than the service manual.
He needs some instructions how the release button on the back wheel is used for instance.
Can you support me in this so I can share the knowlege? Thanks Klaas,
I knew I was up to something impossible, my aim was to build, not to win and I wanted to go my own way wich I did. We´ll see what happens next…
Hi all of you out there,
I have sold my blue SuperBravo and will spend my time on other objects.
Due to this I will not spend much time here.I have enjoyed this forum and it have given me a lot of valuable information and knowledge as well as contacts.
Thanks to all and have a great Piaggio-life.
Best regards Ingvar
Edjuh :
Ive seen this engine run with a 78 jet for a few rounds of cross without problems.Sounds crazy but the adviced jet is 82 i believe.
The power output is much more comparable to puch and others than the restricted 3 stud engines.
Your next challenge would be to fit a worthy transmission.
How about a peugeot fox engine complete with transmission? To mount under your bravo. Or just buy a scooter :-))
I guess the transmission would be next issue to take care of, yes.
The Peugeot Fox is too close to a scooter so that one is out of the question…
The SuperBravo still looks like a moped, I think.
Today was the race and the machine was as god as I had expected.
To be clear on that point I can say I expected nothing and nothing was what I got…:DThe geared mopeds was like hornets leving me behind…8)
On the other hand, I was the fastest automatic machine, the only one too…;)
I missed a lot of power and had no speed at all.Have a look here, you see me and the competitors, some difference in machines, aren´t there?

I will consider if I will go on or give in and sell the machine.
OK, that makes sense with the inertia.
How about the small canal from the exhaust to the compression release, is there some gain with filling it and making it blind?
I don´t use it and it just puts pressure on the head gasket.
The blind canal may create some turbulence in the exhaust like the blind canal on some new EU mopeds but this one may be so small it may not affect the gasses?
Thanks for the input Arvid.
What about the minor leak of the reeds, will that reduce the top end power or is it mainly affecting the low end power?
Thanks for the replies.
I do have a DrEvo because of the race regulations that stops me at 70 cc´s so I had to go with the 43 mm cylinder.
To be picky, I do have an PVL ignition, not an HPI but thye are quite similar I think.
Some updates:
I had the wish to start the engine with a drill machine, at least in the workshop.
It worked well but I found that the large nut went loos as the engine started. In my garage I had an engine from a grass trimmer with the pull start and I had a closer look to it and found some usefull parts, at this picture tey are readu to use:

This is the big part put on the vario:

As you see the flaps will go one direction and when the engine starts up they will go out.
Next thing was the cooling scoop.
To keep down the weight and to cut things off I wanted to take away the cooling fins off the flywheel.
When I decided to buy the PVL ignition this was easy but I was thinking a little about the cooling.
As I will race only shotr races I don´t think it will be a problem but to make shure I fabbed up a scoop to send oncoming air to the cylinder.
I also drilled some holes in the head to enable airflow in cross direction.

We´ll see how my theories work…8)
OK, lessons learned.
About the inbus, that is the rear motor bolt so that should not be a problem.
Have a look at this picture:
You can see the left side footpeg and to be safe from getting my pants in the belt I put on a cover of carbon fiber.
The two bolts are pretty much in the center line of the belt so I figured it would clear the belt but maybe the holders have been rubbing off the belt, I will check for marks and let you know.I will look for new belt too…
Update:
I realize that this was my mistake totally, the holders for the protective carbon fiber was rubbing the teeths off the inside of the belt, have a look at the picture:

I could not imagine that the movement of the belt was that big, it´s not easy to see when you´re driving.
I have to find another way to put the protector on or simply go with no protector.
ArvidW :
The crankshaft of my simo2007 engine survived starting with a drill. However my variator got damaged when the nut got loose after multiple starts. But the compression a simo2007 engine is way higher than a 43mm vespa cylinder so I think you should be fine. However I think you should be able to start the bike by pushing. There are an awful lot of people on this forum with 43+mm cylinders with high compression heads and variomatic who are able to start the bike by pushing. Lean on the seat while you are doing it, that stops the rear wheel from slipping.
I too found out that the nut came lose as the engine started up so I bonded it with some Loctite 603.
Now I will adapt a one way clutch from a lawn mower and use a weak 8.8 M8 bolt to secure the weakest point outside the crank.About the push start, I may need to refine the technique, I found the wheel to lock up easy and stay like that, rubbing the tyre to the ground.
I may need my son to do like this:

Yes I think it´s good but I´m still concerened about the crank tap.
Have you heard of any destroyed tap while starting the engine with a drill?
Now the blue one is in one piece:

If you want some more pic´s you can find them here: http://www.camaross.se/Slutmontering.htm
I have made some comments in english that will be visible if you move the marker over the pictures.
Now it´s test n´tune this week and next week, on the 12´th of May I intend to race it, we´ll see if I´ll make it…OK, that´s worth a try then.
Thanks for reply.
