Vario vs. single gear

Hello,
I have my ciao with std. carter, std. cillinder.
I installed 13/13 cerb and malossi red filter.
I use giannelli fire exhaust.

With single gear-pollie 95 I reach 55-60km/h

I bught vario (with rear clutch and gear)

With vario it takes only 45km/h.

The rear transmission for single gear is 7/1, for variated 10,5/1

The start with vario is better, but the topspeed wery low.

What am I doing wrong?

PS: stock variator 8 rolls, rear discs 10mm

You’re doing nothing wrong.
Your topspeed is usually lower with variomatic.

The stock Variator is holding you back.
Its mostly known that single gear is a bit faster than Vario but in your case a Polini or Malossi vario will get the speed up.

one more question.. Is it reasonable to buy a polini or malossi vario (price/value)? Or is better to buy a smaller pulley for single gear to advance the top speed (I mean 80, 70) I’m afraid about very slow takeoff by my setup with 70 pulley.

the malossi and polini are very good vario’s
the acceleration will be better aswell as the top speed
yeah, pulley 70 is to small.
with the exact same setup as you have i have the 80 pulley.
