6 december 2009 om 20:35 #154209So we started the first P4-testruns. (Date und time are wrong.)
Setup:
– DR evo with Polini cilinderhead
– my optimized milled motor-housing
– crankshaft with ptimized timimngs
– 13/13 Dell Orto SHA
– optimized Polini airfilter
– Proma Cirquit (CC)The red graph is from the first run. We have got 5.6 hp at 7392 r/pm and 5.4 Nm torque at 7100 r/pm till 62.4 km/h.
After we had optimized the mainjet und the ignition with the P4, we got 5.9 hp at 7226 r/pm
with a torque of 5.8 Nm at 7035 r/pm, measurded till 63,6 km/h.Under the diagram you have got all important infos.

Furthermore we did a peak performance run were the engine had 5,9 hp at 7147 r/pm and reached a V.max of 83 km/h at 10 800 r/pm.
Unfortunatly we had to stop this run before we got the full performance.

Based on these results some exhausts will be calculated and papermodels will be created.
Of course, we will do some other tests. This is just a info for you. 😉Gruß, Fabian
6 december 2009 om 20:40 #154210Great work!
Nice to see some results!
Just keep on working 😉Greetz
6 december 2009 om 21:12 #154211indeed, nice to see some goo results, do u have a good picture of the outlet u used?
6 december 2009 om 21:48 #154212He used a proma CC, i dont think pictures of that are neccesary…
I’m quit surprised with the outcome of 5.9ps, this is more than any polini cilinder can put out (according to polini). Ofcourse i’m aware that the DR70evo is faster however it is putting out 1.4ps more than the polini 43mm is supposed to do=) I’m curious how much preformance inprovement you are able to make with the custom exhaust!

Home made engine dyno6 december 2009 om 23:05 #154213Nice, confirming that a DR43MM evo is faster then a 43mm Polini

Iam still curious what you guys aiming for (price/perfomance)
Between 80-120 euro would be a nice sweetspot i think. But exhaust making is very expansive.
Perhaps you can even make an serie for jmpb / german shop.6 december 2009 om 23:32 #154214Nice test results, Keep up the good work!
Im very curious how the exhaust pipe will look like
7 december 2009 om 08:07 #154215hey guys thats looking good (Y)
do you also have exhaust’s for honda mtx SH ??

I don’t see a graph of a polini setup so this doesn’t confirm anything. Keep it empirical.

It is possible to build one for this moped, but here we are talking about Piaggio/Vespa mopeds.
If you believe what Polini writes in the little Tuningbooks which you get if you buy a Speed Engine (or something else) the Polini 43mm has got 4.3 hp.
My unported, original DR evo got on my VCT engine (Setup in my last post) 5.9 hp and reached nearly 10 800 r/pm and 83 km/h.In January we will have the first prototype, because DN-Performance is moving in a bigger place and it gains a lot of time to make tests, calculate and build a nice exhaust.
If you have any other questions just post it. 😉
Many other graphs will follow.Gruß, Fabian
7 december 2009 om 13:12 #154218I believe the dr is faster but it isn’t fair to make judgements based on 2 different sources. But this is besides the point so let’s talk exhausts again.
10 december 2009 om 08:59 #154220Are those horsepower figures crank or rear wheel horsepower?

Home made engine dyno11 december 2009 om 13:42 #154221Those 5.9 hp figures the exactly rear wheel horsepower. 😉
If we made the exhaust we will tune the cilinder and do more tests to check how it’s going on ported cilinders.Gruß, Fabian

Those 5.9 hp figures the exactly rear wheel horsepower.Wow, that’s a lot 😮
I wonder if you’ll improve those results with your own exhaust design. -
