It’s been a while since last, the raw material for the carter have arrived and I will bring it to mill-man tomorrow. However we’ll probably not mill anything tomorrow he will do it on his own, hopefully during January.Meanwhile, I’ll be CAD’ing up a hub for the front rim, to fit a disc brake, just need to get to the workshop and make some measurments of the wheel.
15 januari 2019 om 22:04 #782982I’m awaiting my CNC operator to start mill the case, he has done abot 50% of the toolpaths needed so still alot of work left. Meanwhile, I have cadded up the EBR fork, RPM caliper and the beginning of the hub.. Still awaiting the 260mm disc to arrive until I can make the final adjustments to the hub depth and design to match the disc. The disc present in 3D model is just made out of nothing.

15 januari 2019 om 22:21 #782983You are realy good whit cad

The disk is a looker.16 januari 2019 om 21:08 #783005Thanks, but honestly it ain’t that hard! Fusion 360 from Autodesk is a free software and quite easy to use. I started out with Inventor (same as Fusion, but not free) same time as when I started the carter, no previous experience. Fusion can also generate G-code, if you have access to a CNC machine.
The hard part is to get someone to mill the things, even for me that know a guy having a hard time getting him to mill 😀
Anyway, the bracket is finished, all I need now is the disc itself, which should arrive next week.

26 januari 2019 om 19:53 #783383Hmm this looks familiar.. Seems like The mill-man actually started to work after some threats. 🙂Â

Succes  Â
TICKLING BARN26 januari 2019 om 20:23 #783388Don’t know if the Dynamic milling, taking 20mm depth at 1mm engage or the crankcase is most porn. 😀

26 januari 2019 om 21:39 #783392Don’t know.. this Ciao won’t be finished if I know myself right 😀

27 januari 2019 om 14:47 #783423Very nice to see a carter come to life, tanks for sharing

How far are you today?27 januari 2019 om 18:13 #783426I agree, nice to see it come alive.. although there’s alot left still. Put some fine cuts on it today, and started out the cylinder boring, holes for the dowel pins and chamfer at the bearing seat as seen on movie.
