:: simonini 48 in original block
-
Hey, i wonder if it’s hard to get a simonini 48mm cylinder in original block + eurocilindro turbo inlet?
does it need welding, or will chemical metal/plasticpadding(?) on the outside of the block be enough to strengthen it?

do you mean the 3- or the 4 taps(’07) engine? the ’07 is available on JMPB.
There’s only one model for 3 taps which have a 48mm bore.

isn’t that a SpeedEngine?
Yes the big half is from a SE carter. Personally i prefer an original carter since the compount of the Polini carters is somewhat softer and tends to break more often at the cilindertaps.
I mean the 3 taps 😉
Okey so it isnt too hard to fit in the simonini into original block? and no welding is needed? Doesn’t understand dutch to well, can only see the pictures 🙂
Using google chrome, translates automaticly but it isnt very accurate :/ but it seems it could work, seen people using the kit in org block without welding or pasting so 🙂

The only thing you need to do is milling and adjust the ports.
But be careful.
I have seen people putting this cylinder on original carters, speedengine’s and evo’s. I myself have an Evo with Simo, but as is said you need to mill the bore of the carters and with the Polini carters this would be a weak spot at the taps. I did’nt need any welding.
Also look at this perso of Piet30 He did also fit a Simo on Evo and most of the text is in english.
