i shall put the ignition coil where you have it now but upside down so that the cable is going to the hole you have there.
also cant you put your cdi more up? just above your cilinder next on the tank?
maybe it fits right above the iginition coil on the other side? this is the place where i have my cdi and its fits just on:)sorry for my bad english haha but i wanna help you whit ideaas:D
keep up the good work!
28 augustus 2013 om 14:58 #282815Holy #%&%#$^*()^$ this is nice! Maybe u can fit it more at the middle of the frame?
28 augustus 2013 om 16:04 #282816how do you going to get fuel in the carburateur, cause you fueltank is on a lower point.. maby something to consider aswell (correct me if i’m wrong )
But i look freaking nice Piet
28 augustus 2013 om 16:30 #282817I think the gravity pressure will get in in the carburator til a certan point.
Think he need to worry more about his fuel tank size. 😀Nice project Piet30, love the looks of this engine.
28 augustus 2013 om 18:44 #282818seann, that is a good idea, maybe I will make a bracket over the cylinder like misterd11 was showing in that pic.
And then fix the CDI on top of the bracket. That will look cool and bring some stiffness for the frame. 😀
as Jarco said, there will be enough fuel pressure to get fuel in the carb when the fuel tank is full.
Fuel tank size will be an issue :loltoday I made some brackets to fix the radiator

28 augustus 2013 om 22:13 #282792How quickly do you want to seize the piston in the cilinder? This radiator will never provide sufficient cooling for that cilinder. You need something with a true cooling matrix, for example a radiator from a scooter.

Remember that this radiator you currently have mounted is only for the liquid cooled cylinder head (from EuroCilindro). You need to cool both your head and cylinder and in order to do that you’d need a bigger radiator.
The one off a Gilera Runner is often used on “custom” projects. I may still have some CAD drawings for some mounts for the Runner radiator.
4 oktober 2013 om 18:59 #266952I have a bigger radiator now but need to make new brackets. For a short first test run I will try without water cooling.
Today ignition fixed and adjusted.
After HPI the piston position should be 2-4mm before OT. I took the middle, 3mm before OT.Then adjusted the rotor to the position as shown in HPI installation guide.
4 oktober 2013 om 23:04 #282857It’s getting close so im awake now:lol
Can’t wait to hear the beast run
20 oktober 2013 om 18:37 #282015Andree, comming closer and closer. 😀
At my first starting trial one or two weeks ago the rotor was sticking to the carter when I used the drilling machine for starting.
Here some scratching marks inside the rotor. The result of this, no movement of the krukas anymore.:((

After turning the rotor inside a little deeper I had another dry trial without fuel in my cellar. 😀
First ignition spark was detected.
20 oktober 2013 om 19:03 #276333hurry up, feed this beast with fuel!
21 oktober 2013 om 10:32 #282861Ralf, your steady progress and regular updates keep the tension high, good job : -)
22 oktober 2013 om 15:47 #279804Edjuh, now we are at the peak. 😀
First short start without cooling water
Then filled water into the cylinder and had a longer try with very little throttle movement.
22 oktober 2013 om 17:07 #280369sounds great piet!!
2 november 2013 om 10:38 #275068thanks, for the first trial I’m happy so far 😀
Now I got the right exhaust for it
