Piet30 :
it looks like Sprocatti has plans to put the ignition on the other side of the engine. Appart from the difficulties when mounting the engine in the frame it is quite a good idea :lol

Home made engine dyno18 mei 2013 om 06:47 #282640Arvid, that is right 😉
One option was to use a scooter crank with two ends. One for the vario and the other side for ignition or water pump drive.
So this block has much potential.:D18 mei 2013 om 08:13 #282641That is absolutely awesome

This is a fantastic project for sure. I’m eager to see what parts you are going to destroy with the power of this engine :lol

Home made engine dyno18 mei 2013 om 08:32 #282642maybe my bones first at the next fence or wall :haha
20 mei 2013 om 17:11 #282644next steps.
marked the modifications needed in the frame to fit the cylinder

also for the ignition

cutted a carter gasket

some corners at the piston what need to be grinded away

than the bad thing when I drilled the holes for the threads to fix the ignition.
Two M5 holes had enough wall thickness for about 10mm thread depth.
But the one M6, what is in the position of the main port does only have 5mm thickness to cut a thread. And that only if the hole is drilled complete through the port.

Now, when I fix the M6 screw it is seen in the port area like on the pic. Do you think it will be seal with the screw in the port ?

20 mei 2013 om 17:24 #282646I have THE problem also wint my simonini engineering.
I made it Sp.
Look THE picture

20 mei 2013 om 18:27 #282647You should use a stud instead of a bold, and mount it with loctide.
20 mei 2013 om 18:31 #282648Looking goooood, keep going Go Go GO :@
TICKLING BARN20 mei 2013 om 18:32 #282649Hey Turbociao, that is a great idea, will do so

Rick, yes, that is a lot what need to be modiefied. What metal sheet thickness did you use for the modifications? 2mm ?
Is the frame still strong enough after the modifications?
EDIT says, Crullie, I do what I can :bier

THE metal is 2 mm thick.
It is bether to welt.
And i think That the frame is ok now.
I Will see when my engine is reddy .
Regards rick20 mei 2013 om 18:50 #282653And I should also use studs for the 5mm holes,so you can’t damage the tread in the engine
21 mei 2013 om 18:16 #282654tädä, studs fixed with Loctide 😉
21 mei 2013 om 18:20 #282657Good job ralf, keep the goodness coming!
22 mei 2013 om 09:48 #282660When are you going to plan a testdrive? 😀
