Hi, got post from Italy today and started first rough spinning for a new project. :relax

Sure should be that I will assemble it with kick drive.
Not sure about the cylinder, maybe a small 50cc or a big one?
The inlet outer diameter is 24mm and the inner dia is 20mm. Any Idea from the carb experts what carb I could fix on that inlet?
2 augustus 2013 om 11:17 #492554You entered an Sprocatti wave? 😛 Nice engine! Looks a bit like a Malossi RV copy.
2 augustus 2013 om 11:21 #492555jep, is similar.
But it is large enough for a 48mm cylinder, the Malo RV is not large enough for that. Also there is enough space for a 30mm outlet, the Malo RV need to rework for that.
I did not measure the carter inner diameter for the krukas, but it could be that there is also space for a larger stroke krukas. But need to confirm that.
2 augustus 2013 om 11:32 #492557did you buy that from e-bay? or what.
very nice stuff
2 augustus 2013 om 11:40 #492558no, bought it from gab_pei here on the forum.
Just a quick check about possible stroke krukas for that carter.
I can fit a 44mm stroke krukas, very nice. All that separates it much from a Malo RV. 😀
But this kruk does not have the kick drive possibility.:con
2 augustus 2013 om 15:17 #492560damn you know how to make a special very interesting piet!
we never get to see something of sprocatti and you just start 2 projects based on a sprocatti engine
.for a kick crankshaft, we’ve seen multiple members create a kick crankshaft from a mazzuchelli crankshaft for example.
you would have to press the kick pin from an original kickstart crankshaft in to your 44mm stroke crankshaft, i’m sure you have the right tools and knowledge for this
.any ideas what kind of vespa you are going to use for this project?
2 augustus 2013 om 15:51 #492562haha, I think Sprocatti is cool stuff.
And this carter already has all the basics for big cylinder, longer stroke kruk, large inlet and large outlet. It took me long time rework to modify a Polini EVO carter set to fit a long stroke kruk and a 48mm Simo cyl with 30mm outlet. But the inlet is still small on that.
So Sprocatti did a great job on this 3 tap carter set for my opinion. Too bad that it is not longer availble on their web side.
My first thinking was maybe to put it into the green Ciao frame I already thought for the Sprocatti EVO bevore I bought the nice blue frame.

But I also have a Gilera CBA frame available. I could fix a Si kick subframe on that very easy. 😀
4 augustus 2013 om 10:59 #443520Another very very nice project again
4 augustus 2013 om 12:32 #425958i really like the green ciao frame, but a cba racer, well thats something you dont see everyday. two very interesting options!
i do think the ciao seems like a good fit for a racer style vespa, i guess we will find out in future updates:D.4 augustus 2013 om 18:49 #465711CBA it is!! 😀 😀 Just kidding 😛 But i would go for the CBA 😉
You don’t see CBA’s much in Europe, and you don’t see that type of engine much, so it would be a verry good combo 🙂4 augustus 2013 om 19:02 #492584😀 I’m not sure if the carb postion is ok for a Si subframe because there is no space even in the Ciao frame for it.
Need to check that after my vacations end of this week. 😉
8 augustus 2013 om 08:33 #492655Love this special! Keep up the good work!
But is it also possible to mount a 38- 43 cylinder on this? Isn’t the sleeve on those cylinders to small in diameter?
8 augustus 2013 om 10:32 #492657Thanks for the positive reactions.
tnerual, it is possible to use a 38-43mm cylinder in two ways.
First is, put it on and finish. Sure, there is a small free room between the cylinder sleeve and carter wall but I think it is no big power loss doing that.
I have put a 50cc cylinder on a Malossi RV. This engine will be finished in short time. I can comment on that engine performance if you like.Second way is to put a tube with the wall thickness of the diameter difference between sleeve and carter on the sleeve.
I thought in that way first when I started my 50cc Malo RV project. It is still an option to implement this tube later if needed. I can send pictures of that on comming weekend if you are interested.8 augustus 2013 om 16:25 #492660Are you going to drive a RV with 19mm carb and 50cc?
8 augustus 2013 om 17:14 #492661That would be nice if you could tell us how well the 50CC is performing on a Malossi RV 😉
Apart from this, great perso’s that you got!
