so, it’s time to move forward with this:D
50ccm KickSpeed close to finish. Only need to assemble Ignition and cylinder head

1,5 mm gasket;)

cylinder reworked by 1,5mm

And I found one funny back light

26 november 2009 om 19:51 #456122Good work man!
I want a SuperBravo to:p
27 november 2009 om 17:26 #456131Nice work Ralph! Milling the boosterporths was no easy job I suppose?:lol It made my heart beat slightly faster when I was doing it, soo tricky because the mill constantly wants to ruine the surface of your cilinderliner.=)
What kind of modifications did you do to the exhaust porth ?
Nice job with the variomatic, but why 1:8.5 ? With 1:10.73 you can go up to 115km/hour with your big wheels and have beter acceleration from a standing start than with 1:8.5. Also the bearings are much closer togeter in a 1:8.5hub

Home made engine dyno27 november 2009 om 19:59 #456138yeah, milling boost ports makes fun 😀
The exhaust port has a width of 25mm and a hight of about 16mm. Hight from the port to the deck is about 29mm. Outlet inner diameter is about 20mm. Wanted to weld a bigger outlet tube but have no possibility to weld it.:|I don’t have tested the gearbox with 1:8,5. No idea what the outcome is. If you say it is to long I will check if I can modify it to a 1:10,73 or 1:12,5.
Also I will need to put a yellow spring into the clutch I think. The standard spring is very soft. Did you also change the ori Fox clutch schijven in your clutch?27 november 2009 om 21:41 #4561391:8.5 might be some what more conforable because the clutch does not rotate that fast and that will eliminate some vibrations at higher speeds 🙂
The original spring was still sufficient for my DR639 engine which reached 97km/hour. The “schijven” are quit sticky and the torque-drive splines in the “schijven” make the spring stiffer (you know what i mean :P) I used red with my Simo engine however I think that killed my topspeed due to the high friction losses in the variomatic.
The original springs in the clutch are also not bad at all, nice when you have good low-end torque 🙂
I think your cilinder is just fine with a 22mm flange, i’m not so sure that 26mm is really nescesary on a 50cc… :p And now you don’t have to modify your exhausts 🙂

Home made engine dyno7 december 2009 om 18:58 #456416today I fixed the engine the first time and tried the kick drive by hand
then fixed a carb and an exhaust from my son to start the first time:D
Now I will measure the length for the V-belt to have a ride next time;)
7 december 2009 om 19:04 #456344Nice SuperBravo
13 december 2009 om 14:47 #456503hehehe, is no Super Bravo, only a simple Bravo with some extras:D
Today I visited Sil :bier and got a nice Si kick brug. As some of you already told me, that brug is much stiffer than the Bravo one
here the comparison

also the Si brug is about 4cm longer from front fixing to rear spring fixing point

and the Si brug is also 2cm longer from rear spring fixing to rear wheel fixing point. So in total about 6cm longer. That will look cool I think:D

Would it be possible to fix a big center spring into the Si brug? Not having the two springs on the side? Does somebody have seen that or some experiences with a center spring like in a Piaggio Boxer for example?

.-{2F4OV}-.Very nice cross bravo ralph!
Sorry for letting you wait with mom in the room…. had a little party yesterday:D
With the Si sub frame you will drive a lot more secure… bravo sub frame can crack sometime.
If you want to mount a center spring you’ll need to have a very strong spring… Never seen it before on a vespa;)13 december 2009 om 16:14 #456506Lowie has done it on his Si 😉 So surely you can do it on your Bravo. It just takes a bit of work.

13 december 2009 om 22:49 #456511Excellent ralph, mine will have the same subframe : -)
No monoshock though:boos But I do think it’ll look cool.
O, and find a nicer silencer! This one stinks (in 2 ways).
14 december 2009 om 10:54 #456512
.-{2F4OV}-.Because it’s alluminium and it says ‘malossi’? :lol
14 december 2009 om 11:26 #456513It’s a silencer of the tecnigas circuit. But the silencer is not of good quality:P
14 december 2009 om 11:59 #456514ja,ja,ja, I took this exhaust from my son because it was just laying next to me when I wanted to run the 50ccm KickSpeed for the first time.;)
I will change it to a Leo Krul when I start to find the right setup for that engine. Maybe there will be some other changes after having the first ride with the big vario clutch 😀
27 december 2009 om 17:23 #456711soho, got some nice infos from Lowie about his monoshock on his Si

Today I fixed the Si subframe and measured the hight for the mono damper

Need to find out on what position I could fix the damper 😉

looks not bad I think

I already have ordered this nice damper from an ItalJet
