Piet’s Kick start Ciao

hey, just wanted to show you my new project. 😉

This is fixing a kick start engine in an old Ciao frame from 1971. I bought this frame some month ago for 30,- Euro.
And it will become a potential ZZT 09 runner:rules

Following some pics how far I came with that over the last weeks.:whistle

Good idee to come with a old-timer to the ZZT, i will be there also with the bleu old-timer.

Looks good again and succes with the kick engine.

so, kick system and engine is installed.

But it looks that the chain is a little bit to long. Maybe I need to cutt off 2 or 3 chain links.

What would you say? Are 2 chain links short enough?

short update.

The kick system is working now. I have put in new wheels, handlebars, front and back carrier and polished the old painting.

The carriers allow a lot of capacity for the ZZT09 =)

Also the gear ratio is installed now. It is a 10,5 :1 gear with 83mm pulley and 55mm diameter clutch bell. Dat treckt noch well:D

I like it! I have one myself, but no oldtimer ciao project so I haven’t used it yet. Are you going to mount the headlight on the carrier?

I want to try it to see how it looks. Should not be easy to get the electrical cables to the lamp if it is in front of the carrier.
