some time ago I got a nice Italian Ciao frame from Edjuh, thanks man:D
For a while I had not the right ideas how to rebuild this frame, but now a vision gets clearer 😉
See the first pics and plans.
Want to use the cool Polini water cooled LC Kit for that Project

as the Ciao fork is 0815 style I like to assemble a oil pressure fork from an old Bravo SC. But unfortunately the pins of the fork were totaly fixed in the fork shoes. No chance to make them moving.:boos

So I took the fork bridge from the Bravo and assembled the pins and shoes from a Si fork;)

and as I like to keep the original Italien color I fixed also the red pin covers from the Bravo. Funny, it looks that the frame and the fork have the same original red color=)
12 februari 2010 om 17:04 #458075Very cool ralph!
I always like the 41mm LC kits.No powdercoating ?

Gele Racefrikandel12 februari 2010 om 19:34 #437381Man how many projects do you have in total?
Nice to keep te original finish, new “ciao” transfers and GO!
12 februari 2010 om 22:52 #458090Whoooooo nice :bier Another kick-ass mofa from ralphy.
The transfers we’re too big for the recesses, would be good to see some proper ones.
Do you have a waterpump?
13 februari 2010 om 10:37 #458095Loek, there are three ongoing projects incl. this (Off Road Bravo, Ciao “A” ) 😉
Herr Flick, you got pm regarding powder coating 😀
Edjuh, no, don’t have the water pomp. But this system should work without the pomp also as hot water goes up and cold water falls down.
Do you still have the original red bagage drager plate from that frame?=)13 februari 2010 om 16:56 #458114started with the engine today

adjusted the foot gasket to the cylinder and carters

deck hight without head gasket is near zero:D

all ports are nice open at UT

after krukas timing calculation the inlet should open at about 131° before OT and should be closed at 64° after OT for a 195° total opening time.
The bad thing is, that the ori krukas opens the inlet at 137° befor OT. That are 6° earlier than calculated.:boos
If I would still use the calculated closing time of 64° I would get a total opening time of 201°.
Should I go for the 201° total opening time or should I use 58° after OT to get the 195° total opening time with the given 137° ?
13 februari 2010 om 17:23 #458119Nice piet 😉 how many mopeds do you have at the moment?
13 februari 2010 om 17:29 #458122You should search for another crankshaft that gives you the 130dg BTDC.
137 is way too early.
130 is early enough for most cylinders.
With the 43DR on speedengine I had something like 132dg BTDC, and 64dg ATDC.
The difference between this timing, and the original 130/50 whas HUGE.14 februari 2010 om 16:51 #458164mmmh, is 137° not drivable?
How would the engine characteristic look like with to early inlet opening? A lot torque and no top speed?
How was the difference on the DR from 132° /64° to 130° /50° ?
14 februari 2010 om 18:35 #458108@ Piet ,
that,s a nice combo , speedengine with the 41mm LC .
This engine will allow a nice amount of RPM .Keep up the good work !
14 februari 2010 om 18:41 #438050It took less time for the clutch to get fully adhesion.
The ‘boost’ was much harder.
The topspeed was a bit better, around 7km/u more.
It took less time to reach topspeed. (80km/u, but my weight is 96kg ;))If I were you i would definately search for another crankshaft, I think 137 really is way too early.
14 februari 2010 om 18:57 #438049not so easy to find a krukas for 12er piston pin. Could a kat krukas work in a SE ?
I already have tested three other krukassen but they all open to early. Maybe it will be easier with standard tuned carter set.:|
14 februari 2010 om 19:05 #45816517 februari 2010 om 06:04 #458236i have a 12 pen crankshaft if you need one?
17 februari 2010 om 14:27 #437490Nice Piet
. i like the 41mm Lc’s verry mutch. ill hope i have a 41mm kit some day ;). -
