many thanks for the positive feedback :bier
Echt? You really like that Ciao? Some parts are looking ugly.
Next thing will be to repair the bearings of the front wheel, it has massive play around the axle.
Does somebody know what bearing is in the front wheel?
28 augustus 2015 om 18:48 #497169Good work on the oldi’s
I like how you restore them, ”keine halbe sachen”How did you get the steering wheel so shining?
29 augustus 2015 om 07:06 #497191thanks niemand

I use Elsterglanz polish to refresh old chrome surfaces
2 september 2015 om 18:31 #495337update:

Axle removed and found out that one side has 10 bearing balls and the other only 9 balls.

latest aanwinst, fresh importetd Ciao puzzle from Italy :@
1971 Ciao SC with frame number C7E1T*2074403*
Strange for me is, that it has colored fenders. I thought that the Ciao SC has stainless steel fenders. 😐

21 september 2015 om 14:44 #497288That’s a nice puzzle, good luck. 😀
21 september 2015 om 14:45 #497289We discussed the fenders already :D:con:D, mostly the Arcobaleno SC models have the chrome fenders, earlier normal SC had them painted.
22 september 2015 om 06:13 #497292Fantastic job there mate

22 september 2015 om 18:46 #497298Nice aanwinst!
But why would you buy a Ciao in Italy? I think the prices are a lot higher over there than in Germany or Holland.
It also looks like the engine that’s lying next to it is newer than the moped or am i wrong?

How many oldtimers you’ve got? You’re addicted :lol46 Pinasco, Malossi RV, Schijfrem, Fox Vario
Gele Racefrikandel23 september 2015 om 16:43 #497302thanks, 😀

Jos, it was not expensive, the Italian owner is a nice guy. He disassembled everything and was packing it like Christo for little shipping cost :lol
If you see the market(phantasy) prices for Oldtimer Ciao’s in Germany you only can scuffle your hair. Hard to find something below 350,- Euros, some crazy peaople think that they sell gold and request 700,- or more for it. :hahaThe engine is not from that frame but is an Italian Moped engine also with 1st series type of ignition- and altinator coil below the flywheel. The inlet window of the original carters was not leakproof.
In addition I got the single Moped carter set (right side of the pic) for free.I was interested in this special one as it has the light blue original color, never saw that in Germany or Holland. Also it is exceptionally for me that it has the colored fenders with SC style saddle.
Thomas, I counted 15 (more or less) complete Oldtimer Ciao’s (2x 19″ starre fork, 4x 19″ and the rest 17″), two oldie Bravo’s, one oldie Boxer, two Tiffi’s and some puzzles.
Don’t ask me to make pictures 😀
