Hi, maybe somebody know that I still have my Ciao Moped from the time when I was 16 years old. So this Moped is a 1974 Ciao L and I own it now for more than 30 years:D
During that time the frame has seen a lot of colors, maybe 4 or 5 paintings over the years. And now it was time to restore it again as the frame was welded after a crack.
let pics speak;)

sand blasted

ground painted

and final painting

I wanted to get the original Vespa color like on the fork in front but there is a little difference:(

Will try to complete the frame in the next days.;)

Is the piaggio logo on the tube a sticker? Or how did you take it off?
4 november 2009 om 09:29 #455545hehehe, my wife think that I’m crazy :haha
But my son likes it.The Piaggio logo is a metal sticker. I disassembled it before painting and glued it back again after
4 november 2009 om 18:40 #455573sorry for double post, but here are some new pics from the assembled back.
Spring arms with brass bushings and red Malossi springs:D

4 november 2009 om 18:45 #455576nice moped piet
is this the one you take to the next ZZT’10 tour 😉Mike4 november 2009 om 18:53 #455577Oeeeeh:bloos Really nice! I like the 2k car paint. Wich spraygun are you using?
4 november 2009 om 19:34 #455579Edjuh, yes I’m selling bushes. Let me know the inner diameter you need. Some forks have 12mm and some have 13mm inner diameter;)
Mike, I’m not sure yet if the MHR with DEPS is a durable engine for the ZZT10 in that frame. Need to check.
Second choice would be the Senna Bravo with 50ccm Kick Speed 😀Martijnvanheerde, the paint was mixed by a car paint shop. So this is real uni car paint. They pushed the paint into spray tins for me as I don’t have a spraygun.

I do really like the colour and ofcourse the very fancy malossi frontfork springs, i suppose they make your moped go 100km/hour ? :lol
You’re very talented in rebuilding old ciao’s, I have not seen any of your creations which didn’t end up as a beautifull moped… 😐

9 november 2009 om 17:44 #455683😀 Arvid, 99,5 Km/h should be feasible with that springs.
Everything is wayting now for the engine.

The 2 1/4 X 17 tire fits well;)

Today I got a nice flange for my special carburetor plate

And a nice sticker about fuel mixing rate.
