Piaggio Si Front fork oil question

Hi Guys,
I want to put new oil in my front fork,i know i need to open the drain plug and empty the oil.
when i put the new oil in,do i fill until it comes out of the plug? and do i need to do it when the bike is on the stand )front wheel above ground)

Exactly as you described, but there’s no need to hover you’re front wheel above ground when you fill your fork with new oil.
