Ties: Thanks man! Pictures of how we’re gonna do with the disc brakes are coming up in a few hours. 🙂 They are not on the rims yet, but soon.
Jacky Thanks, I don’t know how fast this one will be, but we are going to take it to a dynojet bank specially made for scooters and test its power. 😉 The rims are 17 inches for Vespa yes. Of course, we’re gonna make a big movie from the Gothenburg-meeting!
barry: Well, the Sprocatti is 500 euro more expensive than the Simonini, but if we had the money we would rather buy the Sprocatti engine. But I think we’re gonna be pleased with the new Simonini. 8)
Edjuh:Hehe yeah 😀 I hope we can fix the strenghtening bar next week, when the sand-blasting is done. Hm, I’m not sure what “weld” means? But as you see on the fork, it has an almost perfect “holding” for the Brembo-ok, we’re just going to extend it so it fits with the disc brake. Well, pictures are coming up and I’ll try to explain the best I can with the pics! 🙂

why you take the simonini & not the sprocatti??????My opinion? Sprocatti is al little bit “vage” about her engine, we never saw one working and honestly, I dont think it will work as smooth as it should, a ciao doesn’t have a waterpump, so you must carry a huge battery to just keep it going…
I think that the simonini is the best choice…!

Really? 😮 This was new for me, I didn’t know that. 😐
But either way, we’re going with Simonini. It’s more well-known and I really think this engine is gonna rock Swedens ass off! 😀 And ours aswell! How fast do you guys think it will be?

21 mei 2006 om 20:59 #268682timschilden say: 110km/h?
the same as the 100cc simonini ciao on the front page.21 mei 2006 om 21:17 #268683Yes but he is going for the new engine with 4HP more so maybe he will go faster than 120?
22 mei 2006 om 09:34 #268684
Jelle89i think the same, cause the ciao on the frontpage had a 21mm carburator and i think that if you buy that engine new, that there will be a bigger carburator on the new one..24 or 26mm?

Yes but he is going for the new engine with 4HP more so maybe he will go faster than 120?Yes, so technicly the new one should be faster but I’ll just wait and see 😉 I can’t wait any longer for this engine now, I want it NOW! 😀
Jelle89: I think the “old” Simonini comes with a 26mm carburator, but the new one comes with only 21mm..
This is the facts they sent to us in january, when we first contacted them regarding the new engine:
Difference between the old and the new engine:
– Cylinder 4 holes. ( old 3 )
– Piston size mm. 47,60 ( old mm. 48 )
– Exhaust : new model.
– Carburetor mm. 21 ( old 26 mm. )
– New ignition system .22 mei 2006 om 14:48 #26868616 HP will go on a scooter about 120 but the wheels of a ciao are much bigger so its possible to go a bit faster then 120 on a ciao 🙂 but you must have a real big road to gain this speed and good brakes.
GL with it millen and its a nice colour to paint your ciao with.
