That pipe looks great on the bike, how much did you gain by cutting of the restrictor? About the cdi, i completely forgot about the vespa using a pick-up.

I haven’t welded the pipe back together yet, I’ll keep you updated once I get another speed run.

Although the estoril pipe pulled better with the cone removed it still doesn’t ride as good as the proma pipe. These gps speeds are from a quick loop around my neighborhood, not top speed runs. But the estoril quit pulling  around 30mph. I don’t recommend the estoril exhaust.

I added the malossi over drive transmission to the kinetic. Such a game changer the bike pulls so much harder off the line. A Honda hobbit belt can be used to run the over drive on a bravo length sub frame. 26EDC15A-6A81-43BD-AB93-44486DC0E47F

The transmission housing didn’t like the constant beating of the hard launch. A7B0BE76-6935-44EA-B92D-A0B3BC488AEF

It was braced from the outside which I believe helped it last longer, but the instant wheelie from a dead stop with the heavy Ducati forks helped defeat the transmission.

Never saw this before, You’re the first to get this done.
I hope you have a replacement clock and can keep the new one intact, maybe play with the gas a little less aggressively 😉

Have a nice day Joe :thumb

I rebuilt the bike using a single speed transmission with a hybrid shaft. It’s topping out at 49mph but the variator rollers are bottoming out at the outside of the pulley. This is with the 12.25:1 ratio. I have a Honda ruckus variator im going to modify for more travel it’s 5mm larger outside diameter.

That looks dramatic, thanks for sharing :thumb

I think it’s caused by a broken needle bearing. Screenshot 2022-08-08 at 09-02-17 Joes random builds and projects – Vespa-Ciao.nl

This allowed the axle to move back and forth. And when a broken tooth got between the gears the housing broke.

In extreme setups, the teeth sometimes break off spontaneously and you can’t drive any further.
                                Then nothing else is damaged.

This clock looks like a coffee grinder, you kept driving despite there being quite a bit of noise.
                                It makes good content Joe,Tanks.

Looking back I should have stopped when I started smelling the gear oil, and seen it all over the wheel but I was trying to make it back home. Then we towed it with another bike for a few miles after it would no longer move on it’s own power.
