I dont know if this gonna b a optimal durability engine, cause im not a fan of epoxy.
But its gonna b fast thats for sure:duivel

      And about the newfren brakes.
It have iron dust in it and this wil wear out the inner side of you rim.
It lost 3 good rims because of this.

After a long time of doing nothing…
I finally got accurate bushings for the fork. So I immediately dismantled the fork, removed the plastic bushings and mounted the new ones.

Some more details.. the “Mille Miglia” stickers arrived from the UK.

Thanks to VCnl again for the rear bearing plate and the Ferodo brake pads.

And thanks for organizing the Leo clutch bell.

After I painted the adapter plates for the Bitubo dampers.

And I made a new harness from motor control wires and some parts of a Vespa harness of the new models.

Now I am thinking of picking my new Polini SE with 41mm Polini LC kit for the VCT – not at least because it has an electronic ignition… But the Eurocilindro ran well and powerful in lower RPMs and it is already a lot of work done on it. So I think I will remount it in the frame again and push it to the limit before the VCT.

          F.

So glad that the Newfren’s were shown by you and did not get the chance to ruin your nice rims!
I’ve also seen Sppedbuxy’s wheels and they were totally shot..

Further, very nice job sofar, keep it up!!!

I came, I saw, and I forgot what I was doing...

                    Thnak you.
Yeah, I really appreciate the advice concerning the Newfren brakes. But the Ferodos look like they are made from the same material. Anyhow they also have these shining/glimming particles in it and if you stroke over the Ferodos they are as rough as the Newfren brakes. Is this normal?

I wanted a colour wich meet the one of the old “silverarrows” and 300 SLR but my painter chose a darker colour. This tone was also used, but only on the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL for road use. So I unfortunately did not get it exactly as I wanted, but it looks nice with this painting, too.

Now I am thinking of building an additional fuel tank for touring, but it is difficult to build one matching the optic of a Ciao. I had something like an old Kreidler Van Veen fuel tank in my mind…

Thats gonna be a good looking Ciao if a look at the parts you gonna use.

I am wating for weeks for the saddle cover to be made – the only part missing so far. So here is a little update in advance.

The Bernardi Mozzis were delivered with all parts, exept the speedo drive. Therefore I had to mill a cover-disc with a collar around to protect the bearing from water and dirt.

                        Before:

                        After:

Furthermore the pin of the JMPB middlestand was too thick. My orginal one was about 10 mm in diametre and the new one about 14 mm hollow material with 10 mm inner diametre… So back to the lathe again and making a 10 mm bolt out of VA material – as the disc.

                        Remounted the engine.

And yet – as I mentioned – the saddle is the only part missing to take a ride! I will mount the DNperformance exhaust again, but beforehand the VCT it will be welded a little bit different and I will shorten the muffler.

                        Grt.

Looks verry good :thumb Its clear that this Ciao has a deep feeling for detail 8), please mount the saddle and do a testdrive with your new Go-pro.

                          Succes 😛

Sorry for not updating a while.. The R is ready for action and can’t wait for the VCT!
The exhaust will possibly be changed, the muffler is from a 125cc turbokit and too long, but silent!

And finally the hand made saddle cover is ready.

I am really looking forward to the VCT!

                            Edit:
Here is an impression of the 300 SLR Hans Hermann drove at the Mille Miglia 1955, the car I was inspired by.

Hans Hermann and Sir Stirling Moss driving.

Several parts like the engine cover will be also painted in silver and I am looking for an original chrome tank strip.. If someone has it, pease PM me. 🙂
