Hi, may be it is for interest for some of you who didn’t know that a HPI inner rotor ignition can be used in a standard contact point carter.
The ignition comes with an adapter plate what fits on the fixing domes for light and ignition coil.
The only thing written in the installation instructions is that the coil domes, the condensator dome and the contact point place need to mill down by 2mm. (see pic. showing that areas with white arrows)
The center ring as to stay like it is.

i think this is great! i believe a lot of people here didn’t know this was possible.
it’s good to know that there is no work left on the rotor itself, just mill the carter and mount the ignition!this wil surely be a new project for me.
question: shouldn’t there be a notch for the spie?
In the manual I see the mounting plate is just flat. So shouldn’t be hard to fit the stator.
Would be even better if anyone can measure the dimensions?Met een beetje geluk hebben ze straks ook los bij JMPB. Ik ben ook al tijden op zoek naar alleen deze losse bevestigingsplaten voor de HPI binnenrotor. Zelf maken kan natuurlijk ook, maar als ze gewoon kant en klaar te verkrijgen zullen zijn… 😉
Ik bedenk me wel dat deze losse bevestigingsplaat uit de complete HPI Simonini onstekingsset zal komen en de carters van het Simonini 2007 blok anders zijn dan die van een elec. of cp. carter. Misschien dat het een kwestie van een aantal gaatjes op de juiste plek boren zal zijn?
Losse bevestigingsplaten voor de Simo staan gewoon op de hpi website. Zouden dus leverbaar moeten zijn… maar tegen relatief hoge prijs voor een metaalplaatje verwacht ik. Hier staat ie tussen: http://www.hpi.be/applist068.htm
Idd staat hij daar tussen net als elk onderdeel je daar praktisch los kunt bestellen, maar niet voor particulieren. Nu ik nog eens kijk is de bijgevoegde handleiding voor op het monteren bij een cp carter en niet het Simonini carter. Het is de handleiding welke Hansieb hier ook al heeft gepost. Over het algemeen zijn deze HPI grondplaten niet zo duur dus ik wacht even af waarvoor JMPB ze te koop zet.
