oh how i wish there were an english version of this! such good info! so hard to properly translate! haha.
i would be willing to host an english version if the site owners were ok with it.. and if someone could help me translate them properly.or someone could teach me dutch! haha
4 januari 2008 om 21:36 #144748You got a good point there but , atleast we try to do something if you look to the italians wo faint if they see something else then italian :lol Vespa-ciao.nl has a deutsch and english section hehe
But also the question how many english members we have counts , i think we dont have much english users.
4 januari 2008 om 21:43 #144749I’m willing to help, but do you think you have enough people frequenting the forum, or is it mainly for info and less blabla?
4 januari 2008 om 21:43 #144750yeah, all my english friends who are into vespa tuning don’t really sign up here because they can’t understand the dutch and don’t know how to use the internet very well to translate it. so they wait until i figure something out and ask me! haha.
4 januari 2008 om 21:45 #144751Weird , we got a special english section. And you could say english is our second language in holland , so there is no problem to talk english for us.
4 januari 2008 om 21:49 #144752the kids i get emails from don’t check out the forum really, which is unfortunate. they usually just check out the tuning links and what not.
personally, i don’t find it that big of a deal. i have fun trying to figure out what you guys are saying. but you should see how many people from the moped army website email me about vespa tuning.. and i don’t even know much! just what i have learned here, mostly!
what i think i’ll do, is just do write ups on the things that i do myself, and take lots of pictures. kind of what you guys have been doing forever, but i’m starting from scratch, kind of.
i love this site, and it’s awesome that you guys have the english forums.
5 januari 2008 om 00:47 #144753I don’t know if there’s enough motivation in our crew offcourse, otherwise we could possibly create a sub forum in the future. There would be a lot of translating to do but in my opinion it would be a real extra to our Vespa community.
Maybe it would be nice to create the sister site “vespa-ciao.com”I’d be happy to act as one of the translators anyhow.
I came, I saw, and I forgot what I was doing...5 januari 2008 om 03:06 #144754@terrydean
Weird i just checked out babelfish the translator and it translates very well. Only if we talk shitty dutch it translates crap but if we talk dutch in a proper way it translates good.
@tonni
You should keep in mind that perhaps of the 1800 members only 50 are english, if you want to make the hole website in english for those 50 i think is not worth it. Iam glad we have a german and english section to just help out those people.
5 januari 2008 om 05:42 #144755freetranslation.com is the translator i usually use for the foreign sites i frequent, but i haven’t tried babblefish for dutch. usually a sentence will come out so that you can kind of understand it, and if there are pictures in the post then you can pretty much what the text is talking about, but otherwise there are a lot of words that won’t translate and a lot of words that translate wrong.
i like said before, i don’t mind it. i’m still on this site nearly every day reading the forums and learning. a lot of the other people are lazy, haha.5 januari 2008 om 11:04 #144756Try this one:
6 januari 2008 om 02:16 #144763no better than free translation.
at least google will do the entire page at a time, though. -
