Arcobaleno=Rainbow=regenboog ’72-74 just only the colors of the Rainbow.
I think this is a Lusso(luxe) because of the suspension(sospensioni) en the chrome fenders.

Bas, initially I bought it because of the Lusso stuur for my Lusso with V-stuur. 😀
In Germany the Ciao SC has chrome fenders but standard stuur. This Arcobaleno has the SC chrom fenders and the Lusso stuur.
Wim, is it only the color? Maybe also the stuur? Are they rare?
This is a ’70-’71 Lusso. I think.

Iff you find a extra pair let me know8)This is an Arcobaleno Super Confort, it looks al original although some parts are obviously missing, and I don’t think the headlight is correct. If it was a Lusso it would not have the seat suspension (and some other details). The Lusso was only made from 1970 to 1972, they always have the first series tank sticker and black first series side covers.
Does it have 28 spokes in the front and 36 spokes at the rear wheel ?

Did you found this somewhere on the internet or is this your own idea? I never heard this theory, I was always told that Arcobaleno stands for the round handlebar.
@ralf, as said earlier, your Lusso is correct as you bought it, it is an export model (Belgium in this case) so the V-handlebar and the headlight are correct as the where.

@ciao1968, een Arcobaleno uitvoering heeft alleen de felle kleuren (oranje blauw geel wit rood) en altijd een Y-stuur (’72-’74).
Ik was in de war over Lusso met veringzadel dat moet natuurlijk SC zijn. Het is een SC van 1971.
Je ziet het in de originele oude folders. Arcobaleno was er niet in groen. Het witte stuk op het spatbord is toch echt Nederlands.Gr. Wim.

So the frame number is: C7E1T * 2202337* this is after my list an Ciao Super Confort Arcobaleno from 1974.
I counted the spokes, front wheel has 28 spokes and rear wheel has 36 spokes.
Ciao 1968, do you maybe have a picture of a SC Arcobaleone? So that I can see what parts are missing?

Well, what is rare 🙂 :D, even a 19″ with stiff fork can be found and bought if you look carefully (and pay a bit) :lol with so many Ciao’s produced I think not manny Ciao’s are really rare, yes maybe one of the first thousand made in 1967, not many of those around….
The SC Arcobaleno was a bit more expensive when new I suppose. It is a nice model and if you don’t have one in your collection I would restore it.
My SC Arcobaleno is far from complete and not representative for the model. I don’t know if the low chrome fender bars on the front fender are correct for this year but I could not find any others.

I have this type of headlamp, no problem. This type of headlamp was also available with a horn on the lower side.
I also have this one, but it does not fit into the lamp bracket. 😕
Leuk om te lezen, aan het begin van dit topic dat de oldtimer Ciao nooit een verzamel status zou krijgen!
Ik geloof dat er in de afgelopen jaren wel het tegendeel is bewezen, Telkens als er een Oldtimer Ciao dus pre 1980
opduikt op een verkoop site is hij Zo verkocht! Dus je kunt nu wel zeggen dat de “oer” Ciao een verzamel object is geworden!:relaxMooie woorden Bas!
Laten we hopen dat het een trend is die doorzet, aan ons enthousiasme zal het in ieder geval niet liggen 🙂
Als ik met mijn Ciao ergens kom krijg ik altijd leuke reacties, oldtimer brommers zie je overal maar een echt oude Ciao in nette staat blijft toch iets speciaals.
Ik heb met mijn Ciao al meerdere oldtimer brommer ritjes gereden met 50 Zundapps, 50 Kreidlers, 50 MV50’s maar ik ben toch altijd de enige met een Ciao 😉
En dat heeft ook zijn charme.
Nog een maand dan rijden we weer de jaarlijkse oldtimer tour, ik hoop dat we dat tot minimaal 2067 kunnen blijven doen. Tegen die tijd maken we er een mooi 100 jarig Ciao jubileumtourtje van 🙂
Om deze positieve post compleet te maken nog even een leuk plaatje 🙂

Ik zeg we gaan in 2067 een rondje west Europa doen op onze oldtimers… (ik ben dan 90 jaar jong, dus vrije tijd zat)
