Er is echt vrij weinig oldtimer aan deze brommer Bas! Mooie Si verder maar hij heeft hier naar mijn idee bar weinig te zoeken :). Dit topic gaat vanaf het begin al over de echte oldtimer Vespa’s, dus Ciao tot 79, Boxer, eerste Bravo etc etc.

Speedyvespa, ook rond dat bouwjaar.Maar we dwalen zo wel erg af..

Staat helaas velosolelx achterop maar deze zijn volgens mij gewoon passend voor de oldtimer zadels en als je nog het piaggio alu embleem heeft kun je het gewoon erover pakken… misschien duur maar beter dan een oldtimer zadel zonder zadeldek
@Fredzz deze Ciao is een duitse Moped, ze zijn erg duur in duitsland omdat ze 40 mogen rijden. Te zien is dit aan de frame en motornummer Moped C en Mofa M en aan de Vario

V staat voor VarioDoe m dan hier vandaan, is ie maar 20,- en ons geld blijft in ons land, wel belangrijk vandaag de dag.

That means last registration is from 1984 ?Yes this is the one from Belgium and I bought both with the relevant parts to complete them.
after the frame number it is from 1976
in this prospekt I found the same type.
This is new to me, i thougt all the Ciao models without suspension had rim brakes instead of drum brakes. Funny headlight design in the USA prospect.

I don’t know Piet, it probably has been taxed for the last time in 1984. But I don’t know how long this kind of tax system was used. The people in the link say that this system was used in the 70’s and 80’s.
I have seen this type of Ciao before (rigid fork with drum brakes), mostly in Germany. This one is from 1976 so a late one. You don’t see them very often that’s for sure, nice rare Ciao !
Nice buy Piet ! I like both of them ! I talked to the owner a while ago but found the asking price a bit to high at that time. Both original engines are there right?
I hope you are able to save the dealer sticker with the restoration, always give a bike there personal touch/ identity/charm those kinds of things.
