No, you can better ask that question at the shop were you buy. Only take the same thickness.

mmh, then I do not have the thickness of a paper gasket (maybe 1mm) between housing and cover.
The cover then could be too tight on the housing and squeeze the gear wheels in the bearings.you can put some on the old gasket. Then you have a oil-tight seal with the original thickness.
Originally there was only a thin gasket beeing used. 0,3 max 0,4mm.
I’ve just found out, i can lasercut gaskets at my workplace. I will try to extract a complete functional gasket of one of my 2-speeds. So i can duplicate these gaskets in any desired thickness, but the 1mm seems way to thick in my opinion.

Jasper, yes that could work. But when I opened the gear box the old gasket was sometimes glueing on the housing and sometimes on the cover. So the old gasket is splitted in some areas and cracked many times. No chance to use it again.
120grams a square meter, Xerox A4 printer paper will do just fine
Its al about the weight of the paper what the density determed and offcoure a flat surface.
