From contact to Electronic ignition

Hello, I got a Polini Evolution engine for contact points, but can I make it into a Electronic instead?

And if yes, someone who knows a webshop where I can buy a complete Electronic ignition?

It is only possible with a Berini ignition, but the are not avaiable new. You’ll have to find a secondhand set.

The other possibility is to replace the breakerpoints and the condensator by an ignition chip. Those will be available again in the shop soon. Youcan PM me about that if you’re interested.

We have a growing interest in the breakerpoint replacements over here in the US.

Can anyone describe briefly how they work? Is there a “rev limit” on them?

Theoretically they have no limit because it’s simply a sensor that sends pulses at the right moment.
