Could someone please explain how the CP points replacement on the main page works? Is there an installation guide, or a list of parts needed to complete the upgrade. I am very confused as to how this works without replacing the flywheel.
Thanks-
Joe30 december 2009 om 20:42 #147830it is offical made for chainsaws. these orriginal also have cp’s but because of the great fibrations, the points move, so the had to keep adjusting them. so, the invented the cp replacement. it replaces the cp and the condenser by a sort of chip so it never moves again.
so you dont need anything else becides the cp replacement. just replace the cp’s and condensor with it. with the kit that is availeble on this cite comes a installation guide, and all the necessary parts to mod your engine.
30 december 2009 om 20:55 #147831Whats the verdict on this? Is it good, bad, or no better then a standard points setup? I read the spark might not be as good, is that correct? Can I get one in the USA?
Thanks-
Joe30 december 2009 om 21:03 #147832Well, you do have a lot of chainsaws over there….
There are no actual disadvantages, you just have to mount it without it shortcircuiting(wires touching) and it will work perfectly.
There’s no movement of the points and no wear, and you get rid of the condensator which can be quite a pain as well….
btw. Welcome, and please do post some pictures of your humble ride.
30 december 2009 om 21:03 #147833i have one myself, and i am happy with it.
video of my first run with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLza5zgVHKU
the spark is a bit weaker at low rpm’s but it didnt matter for me. if the ship to the us, you could ask that to Tonni(send him a pm)
30 december 2009 om 21:16 #147834I can see in the pictures where the chip goes, but what about the other included parts? Is there a picture that shows the whole area under the flywheel? Are the instructions available online or could you email them to me?
If i could piece together this kit over here that would be best. But I am not sure where the extra pieces go, or if I could make them myself.
Thanks-
Joe30 december 2009 om 21:23 #147835Tonni also made the instructions, so you could ask him;)
30 december 2009 om 23:27 #147836I sent Tonni a message, hopefully he responds.
Do you have to line up this module with a certain point on the case? How do you get the correct timing?
Sorry for all the questions.
