Clutch/Spring Questions + Speedometer

Hey guys,

Okay so im driving a polini 43mm ciao, with speed engine,
topracing crankcase, dellorto 13, Polini SP etc.

And im using the original clutch and springs.

And yeah im thinking of adding the malossi or polini springs to it,
ive tried the polini ones before but it gave such a high rpm on idleing so i removed them.

But that was ages before i started running on polini 43mm.
If i add the malossi springs how will it effect the engine performance?

And now onto the “Variomatik?”,Variator? i dont know if its the right word…
Anyways the clutch system that the “Super bravo?” have.

Would that be better then the original clutch with
malossi springs, malossi special belt and 60mm pullie?

And now onto last question, how can add a speedometer to my ciao?
And i dont mean a cyclecomputer or any of that crap 😉

The real benefit of having a so called “Variomatic” is that you will accelerate really fast. But you will need a different transmission in the rear wheel, you will need a clutch which is mounted on the rear wheel and you will need an variator which will change gear during accelaration. Its a really nice but expensife system. You could always try out different springs for your clutch, stronger springs give higher rpm when idling so its just a matter of testing. Im not sure about speedometers but i dont know whats wrong with a cyclecomputer. But if you can get your hands on a variomatic you should get it, because with it you will accelerate far better than pullie driven ciao’s even when you mount a 95mm pullie.

Clutch springs don’t affect idling, but your engine revs higher before you drive away.

The springs you used before should do well with the polini 43, blue or metal coloured ones.

The speedometer is available secondhand but a cyclecomp. is more reliable and more accurate.

Variator and normal pully don’t work together, you need the whole set.
