:: Clutch Spring Question
-
Will the Mallosi performance clutch springs for a single speed clutch work on a variater clutch?
If you got a original variater clutch this will work perfectly. Same principle as the standard clutch.
Edit: There are imitation rear clutches for the variator but there arent many of them and if someone has one they rarely use them because it is made of a very cheap quality and there are no spare parts for them.

If the hook on the spring is longer at one side, then you’ll have imitation;)
I’m sure that it is original. I doubt if there are many imitation vespa variators in New Mexico. Thanks for all of your help!

That isn’t true! I have an original piaggio variatorclutch here with one hook much longer as the other. Could be because I got it from an Italian CBA.

I found springs for this clutch at an online minibikeshop. Like these…

I’ll pull my clutch apart this weekend and see what the springs look like. I hope they will be like the normal clutch springs because I have a source for them here in the US.
malossi has different springs for the vario and single speed clutch in their catalog, for all i know they could be the same thing painted different colors tho. try shaving the unnecesary metal bits off your clutch shoes to lighten them up first while you have it apart, and see if that is enough.
