hi I have heard sprocatti does not ship to the united states, and so I was wondering if anyone out there in europe-land could be my middle man to help me obtain a sprocatti variated clutch bell? thank you!
you can email me iamcrkt@riseup.net or reply here, thank you in advance!
17 februari 2013 om 07:56 #145705Hi, i have heard that when you are new to a forum one needs to introduce oneself a little bit ..:)
Or do you just pop the question to any stranger in real life too?
Just wondering ofcourse…17 februari 2013 om 09:31 #145702Perhaps is this something for you:
17 februari 2013 om 19:12 #145625thank you Jelle!
my introduction… I manage a cookie delivery store here in central Missouri. I work on mopeds in my spare time and I have a beautiful girlfriend and two dogs 🙂
I currently have a Si Monte Carlo with the “euro” clutch and 4.5k malossi springs, malossi 10pin crank, malossi reed valve case for CDI, stock CDI with lightened CDI flywheel, custom 21mm intake and a 21mm PHBG carburetor, simonini calibrata pipe, polini variator, blue polini contra spring, 47mm DEPS cylinder and malossi belt.
I have welded all the subframe joints where metal was pressed together so hopefully the subframe does not break.
next step is malossi race gears.
17 februari 2013 om 21:55 #146427Hello and welcome. Got some pictures of your ride?

18 februari 2013 om 00:30 #145924Is that a black version Cali from treatland perhaps? We don’t see these black versions over here in Europe.;)
Is see no coolingcap on the cylinder? I think it’s wise to use one, as the forced cooling is better.
Also I can not make out what the black thing is positioned where normally the tankcap is mounted?
Do you actually make cookie deliveries on this moped?
18 februari 2013 om 02:44 #146037Hey yes that is from treats 🙂 the black thing is actually a head temp gauge. I could not figure out a way to mount the cylinder cooling cap as the fin spacing is different so the clip does not … bolt on. I will tackle it again tomorrow if you feel it is necessary
18 februari 2013 om 10:53 #145727At first I thought you were from Colombia. Either way welcome. Nice SI, you have it souped up properly already.
Long way from Italy:
18 februari 2013 om 11:27 #145210Out of curiosity, how did you manage to get your hands on a Si in the US? I’m moving to Canada next fall and I’ve been stalking Craiglist in the hopes of finding a Piaggio moped since it’d be easy campus transport and I know how to keep one running. Having mine shipped over by air transport is a ridiculously expensive gag ranging up to $2k.
18 februari 2013 om 11:40 #145724Welcome

Maybe if you like you can start a ‘perso’. You can post some picture’s of your moped en parts so we can follow your progress.
18 februari 2013 om 12:14 #145726Indeed the deps has a problem to install the cooling cap.
Perhaps this works out for you to? I had to put it on backwards 😉

18 februari 2013 om 16:53 #145711I actually traded a maxi frame and some cash to a friend of mine down in Springfield (4hrs away) and he brought this si up for me! It is a lot of fun to ride… it has the 100mm pulley faces and i think it may be limiting my top speed… besides having the stock gears.
18 februari 2013 om 17:02 #146442Yeah, the 90mm pulley will add more topspeed. This is a better way adding top speed then the use of Malossi gears on 16 or 17 inch wheels. Even with your setup these Malossi gears are to heavy. This is when you already have the 1:10,5 stock gears installed? Anyway good trade. 🙂
18 februari 2013 om 17:14 #145723yes martino! I am having a difficult time finding the 90mm variated pulley faces here though, which is strange because those are the most common out here on the variated vespas…
here is the intake base plate I made for a 21mm spigot mount carb

here is the lightened CDI flywheel, material taken off all sides and milled down to fit on the malossi RV case
