:: Broken piston pin circlip?
-
It is not a common problem.
But where is the rest of the circlip?
The “running a bit poor” can be the result of a damaged inlet.
at by the look of it your gasget has been leaking.
And yes it is a good clip.
Hard to say, but it dropped out when I removed the cylinder.
The inlet and the crank are both ok.
The “scratch” is 1 mm deep so I had exhaust gas recirculation which explains the poor running
Last week I’ve had the same problem with the 43mm Olympia kit, same as topic starter; it starts, but no power…
After I found out that it must be a broken or lose circlip I drove home while cursing and full of anger..Lol
Them I burned my hand, because I did’t had the patience to wait to get that rotten cylinder off the bike…I was planning an overhaul anyway, but a shame that I killed the 43mm
Hey Steve, English 😉
Hey Mod..Zo goed?
A lot of users here on the forum don’t use those clips you used.
They had the same thing happen as you. Currently on mobile so i can’t give you a few links to other topics where the same thing is displayed.
Basically you should avoid those you used. They lose their stiffness quite fast, and work theirselfs out of the piston and into your cylinder.
Thanks, ordered the other type of clips for my Speedengine build.
