Another issue that might be costing me in top speed.
i replaced my belt with a new one i got at the piaggio dealership. but i think it might be too short.
in order to fit it on the front pulley i had to pry open the rear pulley so the belt could fit on the front half pulley.
so now if i look on the rear pulley from behind the belt is not riding on the top most diameter of the pulley but is little lower and the pulley is little wider the the fully closed position
is it suppose to be like that or it should be as high as possible on the pulley?
My motor is now at the rear position on the bolts.
thanks

The belt must lay a little on top of the rear pully’s.
Did you run the engine after you mounted the belt? The belt has to position itself back after you tried to open the rear pully for assembling the Variomatic belt.
You can try to push the engine a little bit further to the back. Or you can increase the length of the positioning gaps for the engine in your frame.
What is the size of your belt? 13×9.. ?
if the size is 13×950 or 13×975 it’s an belt for ciao ( 90MM for the 950 and 100MM for the 975 ). You probably need an belt wich has to be around 13×1050. Don’t know the exact number, but if you have 13x9XX it’s a wrong belt!:D

My belt has piaggio 430329/3 printed on it, i searched google and it apears to be a Dayco belt of 1141mm size. according to the link above it’s a bit too short?
on the bike it looks like this:

Too low in the pulley’s. You need a wider one.

maybe this is not a belt specially made for variomatic,..
It needs to be 13 mm wide.

it is 13mm wide,and 1141mm long
The malossi one is 1143 mm Long, but i can’t imagine that 2mm’s can make that diffrence.
Yeah but it also depends on how far the engine is in the front.
Put it more backwards and the Malossi belt will do 😉
