Here some information of my new Fabrizi Torriani.

outlet opens at 102° after OT
outlet closes at 99° before OT
ports open at 123° after OT
ports close at 117° before OT

      outlet timings 159°
      inlet timings 120°

This is a realy rare and nice cilinder. Next time I will go by the ports anf make thhem smooth that the piston rings can’t snap in. The Nikasil coat is nice, too and the piston and rings nearly new.

      Gruß, Fabian

        Jockoballa :

This is impossible, the timing must be symetrical !

        Nice cilinder by the way:thumb

No, those are really the timings when the outlet of the cilinder opens/closes or the ports of the cilinder open/close.
Those are not the crankshaft timings. If you don’t believe it I can make a little film for you.;)

I think this one will run nice and fast.:thumb

You’d almost think it came from a defect mould. The bottom end of the exhaustport doesn’t line up with the bottom end of the transfer ports, it’s a lot lower, hence the timings. The exhaust port timing also is relatively low in comparison to the transfer port timing.

You mean at the portmap? I don’t know, but MoafFreak was very fast and his engine ran very nice with that. 🙂

PS. At my old Eurocilindro is the outlet top a bit low, too if you compare the portmaps.

The timing of a porth opening or closing in a cilinder is always symetrical, the movement of the piston can be plotted in a graph and it will show you that the piston is folowing the curve of a Sinus. The curve of a sinus is symetrical so it does not matter whether the piston is for example 60deg after TDC of 60deg before TDC, it is at excactly the same distance from the deck of the cilinder. The height of the porth in your cilinder is fixed, therefore the timing it opens after TDC is excactly the same as the timing it closes before TDC

I suspect that your defenition of TDC when measuring is not correct.

Ofcourse a crankshaft which is offcentered compared to the piston and cilinderbarrel can give a a-symetric timing but I have not been able to find this misaleignment in any of my original engines

Ahhh now I know what you mean! We have to talk about that at the next tour.:thumb
But I think that this cilinder will run nice and fast.
It was my failure when I measuered the timings!:?

I don’t get the name Fabrizi? It’s just a Torriani.

Jocko wanted to sell this cylinder about a year ago and he called it a Torriani.
So he allready figured out that it is a Torriani;)
