      Hi guys,
I own a Piaggio Si or Vespa Piaggio SI, it has a electronic engine without signal lights. I have some problems with tha carb, it s a 12.10 original dellorto, but the main jet was changed to a 58. I am searching now for a perfect jet to put on because this one it s to big i think, but I really don t know how to choose it, maybe you can help me with this problem.

And also with the setting of the carb I don t know the rules for it.

        Hi Micheal,

Welcome to the forum! I too have a Si without blinkers (or brake light for that matter).

On the forum, there is a page called “Sproeier database” (Jet database in English) under the “Overig” dropdown in the navigation, which essentially gives you an overview of which recommended jet you can use for your specific setup.
One thing to be aware of in the database is that it contains two different versions of our mopeds. One of them is “Brom” (45km/h) and the other one is “Snor” (25km/h). It might be a good idea to know the difference as one of them is more restricted than the other and is built differently in multiple parts of our mopeds, thus requiring another jet size. That is also listed on the jet database page. I think that you should be able to work it out if you throw it through a translator website 😊

Also, keep in mind that it’s better to go too big and decrease in jet size than go too small and hope for your engine to not overheat. Just go to the biggest recommended size (or a little bigger) and then decrease till it doesn’t four-stroke anymore.

        Good luck!

Hi Mike, moustache is in this context a mistranslation of the word “snor”. Like Jenoah said, it stands for the 25km/h version, with different timings than the 45 km/h version.
But we can call it moustache crank from now on

              Guys,

How is a moustache crankshaft looking? And how is a moustache filter looking? I don t really know how the restricted parts look, without the carter which I know that the inlet of the “Brom” one is kind of sculpted to be larger inside the engine.

If you show us your filter, we will tell you what kind it is.
