Hello all.
I started my DEPS block again today after over a year of storage. The crankcase and both cylinders are new and unused, the crankshaft is a used mazzucchelli full cheeks with the built in shim thickness. Ik heb een verloopstuk om op de pin te gebruiken voor de 46.5
I started with the intention of using the DEPS cylinder. This quickly came to a halt when an attempt was made to slide the cylinder past the studs on the crankcase. The bolt hole on the cylinder closest to the exhaust port is too thin for a bolt. It’s the right width for the first 10mm on the side closest to the crankcase, then there’s a bezel that reduces the width and makes it impossible to use out of the box. This hole is too thin on the cylinder head side to let the bolt through at all.
I gave up on that and pulled out a new 46.5mm malossi, the only other cylinder I have without having to take another complete block. This slid along the studs just fine, but got in trouble when the skirt went into the crankcase. It was very tight and made contact with the rim around the entire inner circumference at the narrowest parts of the crankcase. As the resistance increased, so did my heartache – I couldn’t complete my block.
Maybe I’m just as stupid as my mom says I am. Anyone have any ideas or had similar problems?

46.5mm:
A tight fit has left marks on the crankcase. No scratches but it is very tight and I wouldn’t want to push the cylinder all the way down.
DEPS:
As for the DEPS cylinder it looks like the old version cylinders. They came with a special cylinder stud which was M7 on the side for the crankcase end becomes smaller(M6) towards the cylinder deck. Indeed otherwise the cylinder became stuck when mounting. Also this smaller cylinder stud was done so the bridge between the exhaust-ports was still closed. But it seems the new big DEPS don’t take this closed bridge into account. So a M8 drill will open up your DEPS cylinder and it should fit with a normal cylinder stud.
As for you might say tight fit with the Malossi 46,5mm. The old MP1 and MP2 cases intended to make use of a paper gasket of 0,4~0,5 gasket. Which might have given you just that little more clearance. I know the newer MP-One cases are intended with only liquid sealing. But hey getting heartache is not needed, looking at your the photos my heart rate wouldn’t even raise a little. It’s just marginal.

Het klinkt misschien marginaal, maar ik zal de cilinder niet kunnen verwijderen als hij eenmaal is ingeschakeld. Ik kan het niet de hele weg naar beneden duwen met de hand, mijn uiterste best doen. Ik heb de rok licht geschuurd met korrel 180, 240, 400 om te proberen de druk te verminderen. Het heeft enigszins gewerkt, maar er moet nog veel verder worden gegaan:
Ik breng de DEPS naar een ingenieursbureau om het gat naar M8 te boren. Ik ben bang dat ik dat ook zal verpesten als ik mezelf probeer met de handboor.

Ik geef op. 46.5 prima gemonteerd. Heb de ontsteking er in gedaan en de nieuwe schroefdraad zit lekker strak. Dit zorgde ervoor dat een van de originele OEM-schroeven voor de spoel in de draad afbrak … ik weet niet zeker of ik hem eruit kan krijgen zonder in het carter te boren. Er stak nog maar 1,5-2 mm uit het draadgat, dus ik probeerde een lijn met platte kop door de schroef te zagen. Het resterende materiaal was te zacht om correct los te schroeven.
Wilt u boren, vullen met JBWeld en opnieuw schroefdraad?

Ik zou gewoon het schroefje eruit peuteren en het gaatje dieper boren. Dan tappen. En een langer schroefje gebruiken.
De vastgeklikte schroef zit gelijk met de spoelbevestiging. Ik weet niet zeker hoe ik het er met succes uit moet wrikken. Weet iemand hoe diep ik kan gaan zonder door de andere kant te breken?
