Hello 🙂 After many adventures with my Bravo i finally managed to draw its electric scheme. In my other Bravo, the black box doesn’t work so i have to replace it (unfortunately it is extremely hard to find, never seen such part for sell). But i still don’t know the function of this box (pictures of the black box are below). Seeing the scheme i can imagine that it is some kind of transformer/rectifier, but i don’t know that for sure – i’m no good with electic stuff. Does anyone know what it is or has the knowledge to figure that out looking at the scheme?

Something like an extra battery/accu pack for the horn.
Also because it’s feed by the yellow wire from the generator/regulator.Gr. Wim.

It is 1990 Bravo EEV2T with variator, electronic ignition, but without turn signals. I guess it can not be a battery, because the horn does not work when the engine is off. Look at the scheme, the wire colors are factory made out there. Maybe it is some kind of rectifier that makes AC from magneto into DC – it is connected to the horn, front lamp and (not directly) to the rear lamp (all are 12V). Or maybe it stabilises the voltage so there are no peaks. I guess both could improve the life span of those components. But how to check what the black box actually does?
23 september 2021 om 18:46 #812385You said, my blackbox doesn’t work.
But how do you know, if you don’t know what it is?
What does it need do?
Because you know it doesn’t work.
????Gr. Wim.

Only one, attached to the electrical system of Bravo, makes the lights and horn work. The other two boxes make no effect on lights and horn. Of course even with a faulty black box the engine still works just fine – it’s only for lights and horn. It is connected to horn, front and rear lamp so it has to do something with their functionality. Of course, seeing other electrical schemes, there is a way to connect horn and light without the black box, but as it is factory made, it has to have some vital function. All of my Bravos have the black box factory made. Only one works, so only one Bravo is fully operative. I’m not good with electric stuff so i don’t know if i will be able to make them work without the black box.
20 maart 2022 om 21:47 #814748Hello, finally i managed to unsolve the mystery of a black box. It is a horn rectifier. It is no longer in production by Piaggio, but sip scootershop produces replacement one. You can also buy a used one. I didn’t see it in Bravo models from the 1980s, only in 1990s.
