      Hi Friends,
      Im going crazy with the carburator i have.
      Carb was cleaned in ultrasonic cleaner.
      It is 12.12 dellorto , 43 main jet, air filter ‘es’ – 3 holes.
      Ciao 1983.
      Engine have new simmering and no leaking from the gasket under the head for 100%.
      After start up  – not very easy start – giving gas and engine works smooth. Taking the gas out and the rpm is slowing down not rapidly as it should.
      With ideling screw in the carb all the way in, the motor is not keeping slow run.
      When I start the motor again  – talking about high rpm – it goes to mid high rpm on the maximum open trottle. then when I move the air filter a little bit out of the carb , the motor goes to the very high rpm  – as it should do
      – but with air filter a little bit of the carb    ???!!?!?!
      Then I start pulling my hair from my skull and rapidly kicking on the wall trying not to hit the Ciao  – even if it should be kicked..
      Friends  – Help !

        43 is to small for a 12/12.  My 13/13 has a 62 jet.

        How big is the hole in your carter?

          43 is a really small jet, does it run better when you close of some of the holes on the air filter?
          And maybe fiddle some with the choke to vary your fuel air mix
          Don’t kick the ciao demons wil come and suck the fuel out of your body 🙂 kick dellorto instead

            Yes, it runs beter when holes in the filter are close. that is on the idiling moment. When I giwe more gas , motoer to be able to go on very high RPM , I need to take the filter out of the carb. I will change the jet  – 48 is OK?
            If the hole in the carter is 10 it means the carb must be 12.10 and can not be 12.12. ?

              It can be a 12/12, you just have to find the richt jet.

                Hello,
                I tryed 48,49 and 53 jets – no good change. I even tryed smoler one 37 – worse.
                I changed diffirent muffler – nothing.
                On jet 49 motor is getting the right high RPM but I can’t get to adjust the idiling RPM. If I screw in the slow RPM screw, motor is running on high rpm, and the Back weel is rolling. But when I press the back break , the weel stops and moment later the engine dies…
                I took the motor apart again , i tryed diffirent type of magneto weel – still nothing. Tryed diffirent carbutrators (good ones) – no change.
                Today Im going to to put toeghether another motor from diffirent parts, new piston and rings and I try it on the Ciao. If , I said IF! ! there will be the same story I’ m going to sell all piaggio vespa mopeds I have and I’m going to buy HONDA !!

                  You can not just work on a ciao, that is rash. This is my secret weapon.

                    Haha, when Honda gives you problems you’ll be in dept for a long time, I had one and sold it because it had a weird electric problem, so that won’t be easier

                      Hey Folks !

                      I just got back from the basement. The new motor works like dream !!!  Keeps low RPM and gets on the high RPM smooth. New piston, rings and that thing that goes to the piston, I forgot the name. Anyhow, the first motor goes on the table now to vivisection,
