Hi there,
when I saw the new Sprocatti carter development called EVOLUZIONE I couldn’t say no. 😀
I got a nice package from Italy with the EVO carter set for superior lamellar.
Also the 46mm stroke krukas with 14mm piston pin. Together with the 50mm Parmakit cylinder set.
I’m looking now for a nice ignition. Thought about a Selettra ignition, is there a possibility for a good alternativ ignition also?

5 april 2013 om 13:12 #282577this is awesome…. =)
5 april 2013 om 13:23 #282596jummy jummy me just cummy 🙂
5 april 2013 om 13:54 #274975That,s a freakin nice engine=)

For you ingnition problem you could contact HPI.
Sil with his pink Simo ciao did this also and HPI deliverd him a fitted inginition for his engine for 20 a 30euro more than it normaly cost.5 april 2013 om 14:10 #274961holy crap! this is insane!
what is the diameter of the intake? seems huge=).
this will easily go over 100 km p/h, great stuff!what are your plans so far? (moped, exhaust etc)
for an ignition, i guess you have 3 good options.
hpi, pvl and selletra. they seem to be the 3 most popular ignitions out there.
yet i do not know a lot about rotor ignitions.edit @florian:
for sure! he will need to strengthen the frame a lot though.
can’t wait for updates!5 april 2013 om 14:26 #275413This is.. .. TERRIFIC=)
The carters looks more solid than other Sprocatti engines I’ve seen so far.
You already thought about the transmission? Do you think the 1:9 Malossi gears will like this insane engine? Or do you ride with a Fox clutch transmission?I’m very curious to see further updates

@lastpak: I think on a Vespa Ciao, if you looking to the inlet It will not fit on a Citta/Si/Bravo etc..
5 april 2013 om 14:53 #274894Good looking engine. I like how the inlet and carburettor are positioned.
Good luck with the build.
5 april 2013 om 16:38 #280402Nice engine indeed. With the other Sprocatti membrane engines you can quite easily fit an HPI rotor ignition, but i think the Selletra’s(Italkit, Malossi etc.) Will fit also with ease, since this type of ignitions are shown at the site from Sprocatti itself.
I like the carters itself since it looks like a more own build type.
Do you perhaps have an photo of the inside of the cylinder head?5 april 2013 om 17:27 #278742
make it your self
it is not so hard5 april 2013 om 18:46 #279812@lastpak:
the inlet diameter is about 27mm.My plans for a Moped are not 100% clear, I have a Ciao frame where it could come in, also I like to try to fix it in a CBA. Maybe the carb has space between the big fuel tank tubes.
For that CAB frame I’m just building a fork with 35mm diameter legs and Yamaha 550 disc brake set.:D
Exhaust, maybe an adjusted scooter exhaust 😕@Florian:
I’m working on to fix a FOX or Vespa clutch to an Mono gearing. (see pic)
I think the Malossi gears will not be strong enough.@Martino:
please see pics of the head. It came with a lot O-rings to seal it.But the very strong thing are the krukas bearings. You can see the difference to our standard bearings in the pic below.
Real men bearings I would say. 😀

20 april 2013 om 17:43 #274511there is a lot work to do to make this carters work.
First, the 46mm stroke krukas did not run free in the carters. The connecting rod was blocked by the upper carter corners.
So I milled that corners away to get space for the connecting rod.

Then I grinded the lower cylinder end in the area of inlet channel away. Now the inlet channel is complete open and not closed by half of the cylinder.

That was the rough work, but there are still a lot of sharp corners and surfaces what are not smooth.
And yesterday I got a green frame for that engine. 😀

20 april 2013 om 18:19 #266798Wooh nice one, man =)
20 april 2013 om 21:10 #266747Looking good
am convinced that it will run, but there will certainly be many changes otherwise it would not be a Sprocati engine.Good luck and succes 8)

Did you TIG-weld that big-end pin yourself?
