I am an avid vespa lover, I have a few other peds but like Vespa best, I am currently preparing to start on another engine build/buy with the help of Moped Army guy named fredzzz from NL. I am really impressed with the amount of enthusiasm shown for americans in this site. I will try to post pics and video if possible of current peds and buildup as I go along.

Very nice collection you have there!

Do you also by any chance have a Gilera Citta? hehe 🙂I’m looking forward to your pics and vids!
5 maart 2008 om 15:39 #147588I appreciate your comments and praise…Yes fredzzz is exporting to the US and helping with selecting parts..
I have a couple of stock Ciaos one has 1300 miles and the other has 900 miles.. Both were bought for $100 each(at swap meets for auto parts)..

5 maart 2008 om 16:25 #147590Nice old Ciao’s

Are these ones sold in the US or did you have to import them?5 maart 2008 om 21:16 #147591Welcome, and what a great shed of peds you have there, my compliments.
More pics and video’s are very welcome! I’d especially like to see a vespa cruising around on the countryside(can’t tell what kind of town you live in), I bet you get a lot of strange looks from SUV drivers.
Peace.

5 maart 2008 om 23:56 #147593Thanks all!! All mopeds were sold in the US. Nothing was specially imported.
I have a camera Mount for ped but weather hasnt been that good so no Video riding yet,..
Cops dont care how fast you go as long as you dont break speed limit, but peds are so small their radar doesnt pick them up so even if you do break the speed limit they just leave you alone, they will pull you over to check if your registration is current but thats it.
I live out in the countryside and take trips to local small city…. I’ll do a video of that ride as once Im in the city you can see how dangerous it is to ride in traffic alone..Big cars over here cause some serious drafts that blow you all over the road..I cant really complain though, since I drive a Ford f150 extended cab longbed pickup,,and my other car is a Lincoln TownCar.
heres a moped I just picked up and the trike to attach to it

I still like vespas best

9 maart 2008 om 03:57 #147595I think the cops would rather have us haul ass so they dont have to fill out a report if we had gone slow and gotten run over from behind…LOL
9 maart 2008 om 09:21 #147596Nice said 😀 Welcome to the club Foxboss.
I think the roads in your country are less freindly to the slower 2 wheeler. So it’s necessary to drive faster for your own life! 😛
We’ve got a bunch of rules where you get crazy about. On this bit of road you can drive on the normal road and on a other bit of road 500 yards further you are forced to a cycle path! Inside a village the speedlimit is 35km/h and outside a village it’s 45km/h! :S It’s verry confusing I think, but we have to deal with it.So you are a lucky man when you’re mopping vespa’s en lived over there 😛
Good luck with mopping along 😉
When you check my movies @ youtube (link below) you can see a little village near to Rotterdam. It are on board and drive by movies. As you can see, i whipe my ass whit the speedlimit 😛
1 april 2008 om 01:47 #147597How does everyone feel about variated Vespas………I have a variated SI I like it and it has a polini kit,top one pipe, 13/13 carb….It does about 38mph….Should I be going faster? Should I change carb? Should I change front variator(it stock)??
Now with that said,,,I have two Ciaos, both are NOT variated,,can I make them fast or do I need to variate them too???Let me know what you think, tell me what exactly to buy, I know with the experience that you have with these I can make them fly!!! Thanks Mike…
