Great pictures of the meeting guys, keep up the good work.
You even got some females involed, but i didn’t see any in the tent
with you! Was that a police car, where they trying to shut you down?
I must come and see you all next year, looks like a good chance to buy
some trick parts.7 augustus 2008 om 10:02 #147681You could have reacted in the meeting topic itself but nevermind.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t completely on our side, and half of the people left when just a few drops fell on their head.
All in all it was ‘gezellig’ as we dutch love to say(learn that expression if you wan’t to understand dutch, it means ‘good ambience/vibes’ ).
Police came but fortunately they we’re late because of another call that had their priority(they told us themselves:) ), so nobody was driving around and it looked all quiet. No problems, but I’m afraid that could have been different if we still were in full effect. I’m not sure what we will do next year, lot’s of people suggested moving to a more central location.
The camping was somewhat of a mudpool, but we had a nice campfire and some beers.
7 augustus 2008 om 15:00 #147682gezelling means cosy in english ed;)
7 augustus 2008 om 15:47 #147683Yes but that is what the dictionary says, cosy doesn’t quite cover our ‘gezellig’.

.-{2F4OV}-.That’s right ED!

Meeting was really wicked! Very fast mopeds this year..
Maybe next year someone has a jet engine on his vespa!:lol
7 augustus 2008 om 16:38 #147685I didn’t like to but in on your meeting topic and start talking in English,
i think it’s time i got an English to Dutch dictionary so i know what your
all talking about. I use to deal with Dutch people alot on the phone for my
job, but always talked in English, we’re to lazy to learn Dutch!! Glad to
hear the law didn’t shut you down, they should go catch some real criminals!7 augustus 2008 om 21:58 #147686pink floyd :
we’re to lazy to learn Dutch!!You have a good reason to, it’s a difficult language. We have the advantage of television with subtitles which is very useful for learning (american) english. In most countries surrounding us it’s all dubbed, which doesn’t just ruin movies(‘Il Grande Lebowski’ ) but also wastes good chances for learning english.
The law had no reason to shut us down, they we’re some reasonable ladies and we we’re with half the people we started with. It could mean troubles next year, which is why organizing larger events doesn’t seem like a good idea unless it’s legal.
8 augustus 2008 om 16:48 #147687Was that a dino you where running the bikes on, if so that sort of hores power were
you reaching? Good to see some of you like a drink and a smoke, that two thing i enjoy.
What sort of age are you guy’s? i’m 35 but act like i’m still 16! that’s the age i had my
first moped, great times! I wouln’t like to come to one of your gigs and be the oldest
there!8 augustus 2008 om 17:13 #147688most of us are between 15 and 20-22 years old (I’m 19), but a few are 30+ or even 40+ so don’t worry 😉

.-{2F4OV}-.Dyno was no good…
One time I ran on a dyno, but my moped was not finetuned. It was 10,5 hp;)
8 augustus 2008 om 21:41 #147690The ‘dyno’ there is an old one the police used to use. It is supposed to measure Kw (Hp) but actually it kind of measures the topspeed, which is converted on a meter scale to (fake) Kw’s. They then again used a form on which te Kw was converted back to ’topspeed’ for which you would then get your ticket.
It was a very unfair system..For example: if you were a lightweight with a medium set-up it was possible you didn’t get a ticket eventhough the moped would run 70 with you on it(40 was allowed) becourse the testing officer was a lot heavier… Same was possible the other way around of course..
But nevertheless it gives a nice indication of the potention and differences between the various set-ups that were there..
I came, I saw, and I forgot what I was doing...9 augustus 2008 om 16:49 #147691I’m glad you can make sense of my crap English Tonni, ‘dino’ i think that was the name of a dinosaur on T.V.
anyway you knew what i ment. Maybe you could teach me some English before i try learning Dutch!
I understand the dyno didn’t give a true Hp reading, but which set up was best?9 augustus 2008 om 19:04 #147692I think the Pink and White XHS Simonini Ciao was the fastest. Although the green Si with the 100 cc Kart engine should run faster with the right gearing (he had stock gearing while the Simo Ciao had Malossi gearing). The Simo engine’s ruled.. (there were 3 ! )
I came, I saw, and I forgot what I was doing... -
