Hi guys.
I’m new in this game.
Can you give me any good advice on which cylinder has the best lowend power for a Malossi
I have been looking at Athena with a tripple exhaust port:

And this from malossi with only one exhaust port:
25 juli 2015 om 23:13 #146654Definitly go for the polini 46mm! Loads of torque and a decent top speed.
25 juli 2015 om 23:31 #146655The polini 46 is lower end power compared to the athena/malossi however it is adjustable through exhaust port tuning.
Be carefull using the malossi cases the new production line has a lot of flaws unfortunatly.. You (in my eyes) are better of get a polini EVO kit wich has a higher quality grade compared to the malossi.
26 juli 2015 om 07:59 #146656i depends if you use a milling machine, and are good at it 😀
and you need the 19.5 phbg kit for it, its not going to do anything with a 13 13 carburator.the problem with te reedvalve is that the canals are simelar to a stock engine,
so it recuires a lot of millin and tuning to get right for a malossi or athenathis is stock porting in a reedvalve

this was during the tuning period, more than 2 mm of material has to go

this is the end result for a brevattato 46.5
good power at the lower rpm, and a top speed of around 80/85 km.h

so we think youre better of with a polini engine, this has already good ports and it runs sick with a 46 polini cilinder

Is it this one?
Polini 80ccm
26 juli 2015 om 09:02 #146658No it is this type:
The one you are linking is for a maximum of 13mm carb’s and is more like a stock case with ports and large inlet ;)!
26 juli 2015 om 09:08 #146660Thanks 😀
Is this the cylinder you recomended?
http://www.jmpbparts.com/vespa-ciao-si/engine-parts/cylindres/polini-cilinderkit-46mm-ciao.html

I’m only after good low end acceleration, not top speed.
I intend to use the Bravo in the city anyway 🙂
Do I still need this engine, or should I settle with the more tame Polini?
Do I have to change the crank as well, or is the stock one ok?
And what exhaust do you recomend? (It must fit with the centre stand on)
26 juli 2015 om 18:11 #146538what kind of transmission you got?
normally this engine runs over 75 km/h, if you going to use a stock exhaust its a waste of money i think
better spends some euros on a variomatic, (1/13 gearing) with a 70cc DRevo and a good city power.
that wil do some wheelies like you never seen before 😀the polini evo engine is a fast one, to make it run not faster than 55km/h wil be difficult 😀
if the power goes up, the speed wil also go up, unless you wanne ride 50km.h with 9000 rpm 😀

I have a Bravo with all stock, except from a Malossi variator.
Look here: http://www.vespa-ciao.nl/forums.php?m=posts&q=36188Please give me some suggestion to good strong setup 🙂
I’m willing to buy all the necessary parts you recomend.1.motor carter
2.Cylinder
3.Exhaust
4.Carburettor
5.More I need???
26 juli 2015 om 19:28 #146662The 46mm polinie has smaller ports.
I think you be far better of wiht the 46mm. It has plenty of torque at low rpm.It is not specially build for 46 mm cilinders but take an exhaust like the leovice handmade. It is a long pipe and doesn,t allow to much rpm,s.
But what ever you do ritze has right. You’ll fly.
But for what you say you want:
For much less money;Take: a normal tuned blok, a dr evo 43mm,a 13/13caburator, a standaard vario and a leovice handmade.
Topspeed 65km/h and exelent pull up.26 juli 2015 om 19:59 #146663Thanks for your feedback Zevenenergie.
Can you post some links to the parts I need?
I have never heard of the leovince handmade for a Ciao/Bravo.
Is it this one?

If so, I can’t use it.
The moped MUST have a close to original look, and the main stand need work as it should as well.i was hoping to use the Malossi Too bad, any good?
26 juli 2015 om 21:16 #146664Cilinder: http://www.jmpbonderdelen.nl/vespa-ciao-si/motordelen/cilinders-vespa-ciao/dr-cilinder-43mm-vespa-p10.html This is piston pen 10mm, make sure that this is your size!
I dont know for shure wat type exhaust fits on a bravo with a main stand.
The HM is scarce, they are not sold new any more.I think this will do:
http://www.jmpbonderdelen.nl/vespa-ciao-si/motordelen/vespa-ciao-uitlaten/proma-circuit-citta-ciao.html
Or for a standaard look; take a citty power. I do not know which one wil fit a bravo.I see you already have a vario
26 juli 2015 om 22:26 #146666If you want torque really use the 46mm bore. First try without variomatic and get the proma cc!
Did a test ride on ciao with 46mm polini and speedengine combination and this was more then good 😉
27 juli 2015 om 08:55 #146667If i were you I would go for:
Polini Speedengine
Polini 46mm
Original crankshaft
13/13 carburator
leovinci SP(silence power) exhaust (if you can find it, in Holland you wouldn’t find it new)
