I’m just tuning an DR EVO cylinder and have enlarged the scavenging port timing.

Now I have an overlap of about 10° with the inlet timing. Is 10° overlap still ok?

In general, what influence does the overlap timing has?

Im not an expert on the subject, but I believe I’ve read that 10 degrees is about the maximum you want in overlap.

I guess more overlap could disturb the flow of mixture due to a loss of pressure.

yes, I’ve heard that too. 10° should be the max.

That’s why I’m thinking about to tune the krukas in that way that I will get about 5° to 8° overlap.
But I can not estimate the influence if I go too low in overlap. No idea where the lower borderline is. 😕
