I have a 48mm simo cylder made for a 46mm stroke crank. Unfortunatley the piston is a 10 pin one. From what i know simonini dosen’t make 46mm stroke 10 pin cranks. How would the cylinder work with a 44m stroke crank? Or iss there any way to convert the crank to the smaller 10 pin?
20 november 2011 om 16:51 #146309i think this will may do the trick for you
You can order them on this site.
I hope that this is what you mean, because my english isn’t to good
20 november 2011 om 20:42 #146311no sorry mate, but thanks for trying. The thing is i got the 10 pin piston not a 12
20 november 2011 om 20:47 #146312oh, there is also a way to convert them
let me search themedit: ahh bummer, in the webshop the used sell conversion tubes made of a self lubricating bronze
maybe someone has one left which you can buy20 november 2011 om 21:08 #146313look for mallosi. Bearings the got adaptor kits ( bearings ) from piston sise 12 t 10
its for scooters. But its the same thing. If you cant cant find it. pm me, i will gif you the link.
Im now on my phone. So i can’t copy and past.21 november 2011 om 14:57 #146314send me that link when you have the time 🙂

Im now on my phone. So i can’t copy and past.Goog luck in finding these, the scooter bearings wont fit.
The mesurements are not the right size to fit our cranks.@ Supersi
This adapters wont come back ( i think ), they had some troubles so we cant take the risk of selling them.
21 november 2011 om 18:14 #146316I have 2 solutions in mind and i would like to hear your thought.
1. I would make a bronze bushing and fit it into the crank sort of like a spacer
2. I found a HK type needle bearing size 10x15x15 wich are the perfect measurements for the simo crank. The reason they are hard to find is because their seize is a non standard one.21 november 2011 om 18:32 #146318The 10-15-15 bearing is the ideal solution.
This was what I was looking for also but al the suppliers I know where sold out and since they are not common in size, they are only produced in a batch if ordered…If you’re able to get them, I’m also interested.
The spacer idea as in a filling bush to make the 10 pin needle bearing fit: is possible but you have to be very carefull which material you choose.
The sinterbronze bushes I have are also 10-15-15(or 16) and should be fit for the job, but it depends on the temperature that is reached at the pistonpin (and that I don’t know and I have no means for measuring this)
I came, I saw, and I forgot what I was doing...21 november 2011 om 19:03 #146319Well the bearing is HK type, im sure you know what kind of needle bearing it is (if not just google it). A shop has some but they arent so cheap, they are 16eur/piece. If you are intrested I can order a few more for you. As for the bushing, i was thinking that instead of bronze I would use a steel alloy. Its very hard and heat resistant. It would be polished like a piston pin is, to insure the bearing rolles over it smoothly.
22 november 2011 om 14:59 #146320I’m not sure you will get away with a HK type, since you have high RPM and lower ability to lubricate.
Ideal would be if there were possibilities to make some lubrication holes (in the old type 12mm conrod style) in the caging, but I wouldn’t make them myself in a hard steel casing..
I came, I saw, and I forgot what I was doing...22 november 2011 om 18:18 #146321mhm, well I guess Iwill try my luck with a steel bushing. I will though still keep looking for a K needle bearing
