:: Finetuning a DR Evo 43 mm?
-
I have bought a 43 millimeter Dr Evo based on the fact that I need to stay under 70 cc´s and also that this cylinder was told to be a well performing cylinder.
As every cylinder this is a bit raw out of the box.
Can anyone advice me on wich parts to fintune to gain some power or is it as good as it can be?

The DR cilinder are already quite smooth when you get them new out of the pakage.
what you can do is take a piece of fine waterproof sandpaper and smooth up al te ports a little bit extra.
if you are realy secure you kan smooth up the inner exhaustport.
But really you just can mount the kit right out of the pakkage and you can drive.
If you want to do real tuning, you can make the exhaust port a little bit bigger.
you can find more info and how to’s in our tuning sector

I´m looking for a port map for the 43 mm DrEvo.
I have done some searching on this forum but no luck, have I missed it?
Anyone to help me?
Thank you Martino.
I will try and remember the dutch overlines from now on.

What kind of tools do I need for milling the crankcase?

I´d say get an high speed grinder, like this: https://online.tools.se/#/?article=V70-wc494166-2072774
The small Dremels and so on is good for finetuning on small details but you need more power to open the crank case.
I have good experience from using toughened steel grinders, they are very good at taking away alumimum, if you use it right.
Not so good are the ordinary grinders, the aluminum tends to clogg them up totally, even if you use coolant.
Those high speed grinders are quite powerful so bevare so you don´t harm your fingers or hands.
I´ll contact you this evening, I have two of those, I might sell one if you are interested?
