:: How do I check up the rear transmission?
-
I have been searching for a guide how to check up and, if needed, restore my rear wheel transmission.
On this great site I haven´t been able to find any guide but I may be loking at wrong places?
My questions are as follows:
How can I check the oil level?
How can I replace the bearings?
Any other things to consider?

hey,
as far as i know you can’t really check the oil level. But what you could do, is putting more oil in it, and then hold in front of you the way it’s mounted. it’s probably flowing out of it. remember there is very little oil going in it!
for a revision i would recommend to read this how to: http://www.vespa-ciao.nl/page.php?id=223
when you do a revision, you must look very hard if there are any shimrings left in the case (it happens a lot) wich causes the transmission to be not able to turn.

That´s funny, I tried it too but the translation is way off, some sentences are hard to understand
and some words are also completely wrong put.
I will use the guide and translate the translation into real swedish…8)
Thanks for your effort.
