Hello!
I’m having some serious problems fitting the MHR reed valve engine into the frame. I have removed the cylinder and the cylidner head but now I’m compleatly stuck and really don’t know what do to. Does anyone know how I should do to get it to fit? Do I need to make any modifications?
Thanks in advance!

That guide does only say where you should drill the hole, for adjusting the carburator, in the frame 🙁

what is the problem exactly? The top of the egine hits the frame when I try to mount it
27 november 2010 om 16:41 #145622It’s always tough to mount a RV engine. Mount it under your ciao without the carburator.
My frame is a bit stretched, therefore i can place the RV a bit easyer (also have a kickstart reedvalve which is even tougher to mount).

27 november 2010 om 16:52 #145621Thanks Hansieb! I also have the kickstart engine with the Malossi 47mm D.E.P.S cylinder 😀 Is it possible to mount the engine without a stretched frame? Do you have any other tips? I tried to mount the engine into the frame for like an hour today, but I didn’t succeed 🙁
27 november 2010 om 17:00 #145619You also have a kickstart reedvalve, where did you found one =) ?
About mounting, at the photos you see i cut out the part for kickstart (that is essential!)
The gap has to be big enough, else you can’t place the kickstart part on the engine.Without that stretching it is really tough to place the engine in your frame.
What i do is place the engine vertical (cilinderhead pointing down to the floor) then put the crankshaft in the left part of the frame. After that you try turn the engine horizontal (cilinderhead pointing to your front fender) and try to twist it in.
I should advise to stretch your frame a small bit 😉
27 november 2010 om 17:10 #145618Thanks again! 🙂 I bought the engine from a guy here in Sweden 😉 Ok, would it help if I made the two holes i the frame bigger? I don’t think I can stretch the frame since I don’t have the right tools 🙁
